Let's break down the fight.

I am not making assumptions I am using logic.
We know HBO only budgeted 1 million dollars for the fight which was to be divided between GGG and his opponent.
More than 30 minutes into an impromptu press conference to announce nothing Thursday, a reporter posed an essential question to Gennady Golovkin’s promoter. Tom Loeffler was asked, rather than dragging out the search for Canelo Alvarez’s replacement any longer, why doesn’t Golovkin just fight Sergiy Derevyanchenko on May 5? The unbeaten, unknown Ukrainian is the mandatory challenger for Golovkin’s IBF middleweight title and the primary reason Loeffler hasn’t been able to announce an opponent for Golovkin’s upcoming fight, tentatively scheduled for three weeks from Saturday night.
Loeffler explained Thursday in Los Angeles that there’s not enough money in the license fee HBO has agreed to pay to televise Golovkin’s May 5 fight to make it worthwhile for Golovkin or Derevyanchenko to fight each other on three weeks’ notice. Loeffler didn’t mention how much money HBO paid to air Golovkin’s return May 5, but multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com that approximately $1 million will be paid to help cover the purses of Golovkin and his opponent.
We know that Sergei Derevyanchenko wouldn't have taken chump change considering he already turned down 250k to fight Andrade and that as a mandatory opponent he was under no obligation to.
Demetrius Andrade understandably is much more interested at the moment in fighting Gennady Golovkin. Artie Pelullo, Andrade’s co-promoter, made it clear, though, that the undefeated southpaw still is very much willing to face another unbeaten middleweight. Pelullo told BoxingScene.com that it was Sergiy Derevyanchenko’s handlers, not Andrade’s side, that didn’t want that intriguing middleweight fight when HBO Sports’ Peter Nelson offered it a second time for some time within the first quarter of 2018.
"That was for December. That’s what happened then. The money for them to fight in December was fine.
“And then the offer was reduced by three-eighths this year…..It’s also very difficult when you’ve made a deal with a fighter at a certain number, to reduce that total pot by three-eighths and think that it’s gonna be easy to close the deal.”
We know that it was HBO's last non-PPV fight. We know that when limited budgets weren't an issue it was quick and easy to put a deal together for GGG to fight Derevyanchenko. The mandatory fight was ordered on August 5th and the fight was announced on August 21st.
Talks continue to linger for a vacant middleweight title fight between Sergiy Derevyanchenko and Gennadiy ‘GGG’ Golovkin, though with the finish line well in sight. While the timeline continues to shift, sources from both camps have informed BoxingScene.com to expect all terms finalized in time to formally announce the event later this week in New York City.
Gennadiy Golovkin and Sergiy Derevyanchenko will clash for the vacant IBF World Middleweight title on Saturday October 5 at Madison Square Garden in New York, live on DAZN, in a fight brought to you by GGG Promotions and Matchroom Boxing USA in association with DiBella Entertainment.
We know Andrade pulled out of the original fight date for Sergei D because he claimed he didn't have enough time to train. Yet you want me to to believe he would have been ready to fight a much more dangerous and established fighter with half the notice.
There was almost a second meaningful middleweight fight made for December 16. Keith Connolly, Sergiy Derevyanchenko’s manager, told BoxingScene.com that the unbeaten middleweight agreed to face Demetrius Andrade on the Billy Joe Saunders-David Lemieux undercard December 16 in Laval, Quebec. The deal was almost finalized, but Andrade withdrew from negotiations because the undefeated contender didn’t think he had enough time to prepare for such a difficult fight against Derevyanchenko (11-0, 9 KOs).
“We were in the ninth inning of negotiations to fight Andrade and had agreed on pretty much everything,” Connolly said. “We were told by his people that he was ready and that he had agreed. But then, at the last second, he pulled out.
“He claimed he didn’t have enough time [to get ready], but these negotiations took place seven weeks before the fight date. So that’s plenty of time. If you think you’re gonna take the fight, you start training right away.”
But yea....I am only making assumptions.

Yeesh...embarrassing man
I think they were 2-1 out of 3 fights...so pretty competitive...I watched the bout at the Olympics, and Am scoring is always a little tricky...but Dirrell was on the back foot every round and just looked like he was losing that one.
No thanks man...you seem pretty clearly to score for guys who have the right skin color in your opinion...don't think you keep it real at all.
Btw I think I have it figured out a bit with you...you accuse others of being paid to be on here, I think that is a little bit of projection...my guess is someone is funding you to make all these comments, and you get paid by the comment...that's why you make all of these individual responses, instead of doing the MQ like anyone else would do.
What really tipped me off is that you all of a sudden got all that Green K out of nowhere...anyways have a good day man.Comment
