Yeah Canelo can understand English perfectly. He probably doesn't try to speak it much for fear of sounding less intelligent, or speaking some broken kind of English like GGG does sometimes. It's quite the opposite though, speaking more than one language is a mark of intelligence. Either way actions speak louder than words.

The only questionable "superstar" right now is Canelo really. None of the 147 pounders are even superstars. Until they all fight each other it will not even be a possibility. Even then it is no guarantee.


Loma is a lightweight making 3+ million a fight. He is doing very well considering the current market. He has those Venum and Billionaire endorsements also on top of it.

I think Loma is phishing for people to come out and support him. Like he’s sum sort of underdog. Get a bunch of support from non English speakers. I mean how many amazing sound bites do English speaking fighters put out? Or any boxer for that matter. Nobody will be Ali. I’m sure a lot English speaking fans wished Broner spoke another language. Half of boxers say ridiculous things that seem to turn off fans. Everything gets translated, and most loyal boxing fans read their quotes and news. Why act all down and say u will never be a superstar unless you know what ur saying will be polarizing and get publicity? I mean here’s the thread. I can’t believe for an instant he’s trying to admit to being irrelevant and expects to get less attention after this.

That's probably one of the reasons why so many people like Canelo now that I think of it. He doesn't ever seem to have much of anything to say one way or the other, just fights people and does his job.
