Golovkin. Sanchez had both fighters and according to him Golovkin punches harder, has a better jab and is a better boxer. So right now against this version of Kovalev it would have to be Golovkin.

Kov's shot, legs are gone. Mid KO for Golovkin.

Sanchez says all kinds of crazy stuff.

Ask yourself, do you think gggs opponents last longer against Kovalev? Do you see Jacobs going the distance? Murray last 11? Ouma last 10-11?

Do you see ggg being able to completely & utterly dismantle Bernard Hopkins?

Kovalev is a better boxer, puncher, you name it. Even boxing off the back foot Sergey is superior.

Kovalev takes it! GGG would be afraid to go to the body because of Kovalevs power and Kovalev would win the jab war effectively removing GGGs 2 best weapons. GGG doesn't have a higher gear where he can move up to 175 and be effective. He is too old and couldn't kick up a gear against Canelo in the second fight despite Abel wanti him to.

The OP was asking who would win if they fought right now. Right now I'm picking Golovkin. Kovalev doesn't look like the fighter of a few years ago.

I’d say GGG at this very moment
I just view Kovi like a wounded animal
I think GGG will get in there , up and close and **** that body
Sorry but not so sure Kovi’s power at this stage will alter GGG’s win
He’s certainly not going to outbox him , no Buddy McGirt won’t change a damn thing once he’s dragged into a brawl
Instinct will take over and it’s a losing battle for Kovi

ggg could barely beat Jacobs in his own prime though, ggg would get steam rolled by Yarde & E. Alvarez.

I can see Golovkin easily beating the version of Hopkins that got spanked by Kovalev. Hopkins was past his best years by a lot at the time of that fight. He was a 2 to 1 underdog. He was 41 years old Kovalev was 31. It was a mismatch. What Hopkins did at an advanced age is amazing but he was overmatched in that fight. The fight was a younger skilled fighter in his prime against an aging legend.
