HBO offered the fight to both, according to GGG, which neither HBO people nor Ward, ever disputed. Ward said no and said something about his shoulder.

Sometime later, Ward came back taking tuneups getting ready for his fights in the upper division.

So how can this fight even happen when Ward can't make weight anymore?

When the fight was first discussed K2 gave hbo the green light to pursue it. Ward decided to fight his promoter (he’s admitted this)..Abel made his ****** comments about 154-168 which led to fallout and fans claiming Golovkin said it when he didn’t. Wars came back signed a tune up for 172 which he admitted he killed him self to make, again which he admitted. At that point the only way they could fight was at 175 which was a no go and Canelo fights first rumblings began. Ward got kovalev instead and folks somehow continue to accuse Golovkin of avoiding ward. Yet these two have been in the same room like five times in photos and there is no ill will between them. Folks forget just how long it has actually been since wards last fight at 168. Yeah Golovkin asked for 164 which was ****** but it was his asking meet me half way which originally may have been fine but again almost 3 years since ward had even fought at 168 which he couldn’t make without losing a leg. I still believe they would’ve fought if ward could make 168 though.

To my knowledge there were never any offers just a media callout. Can you name even one single offer GGG recieved to fight Ward with a date, a fight location, the dollar amount GGG was supposed to receive. All the stuff that goes with any real offer to fight?I have yet to see anyone come up with any offer team Ward ever put on the table for GGG because there never was one.

Not worth the risk for GGG. He was willing to go to 168 for Froch and Chavez Jr due to money. Ward didn't bring that type of payday

It's been discussed ad nauseam. It's not hard to find a timeline of events. There was never really ever a good time to fight. Everyone else gets to face other guys when they move up, but Golovkin had to fight Ward right away.

This is the truth but GGG haters will never believe it. It's so much more enjoyable to have GGG scared to death of Ward. They can check Ward's record and see when he fought at 172 and was completely done with 168. GGG could only have fought him at 175. As for GGG losing they never fought so it's just an opinion Ward would have won and not a fact. Boone who fought Ward and knocked Ward down and was friends with GGG and had trained with him said GGG would have beaten Ward and Kovalev.

Because of Abel Sanchez and K2. That's why he fired Abel and signed with Eddie.

Darnell Boone lost fights to Ward and Kovalev and he knocked them both down. He also trained with and sparred with GGG. He said GGG would beat both Ward and Kovalev in his opinion.
