People seem to see a lot in Yarde's potential and wonder if he could actually reach it with the unorthodox style of Tunde.

A lot of trainers get criticized. It's not like Tunde is the first.
He is one of those guys who thinks that he is smarter than everyone else. He wants to reinvent the mouse trap. There is nothing wrong with innovation but there are some methods that are tried and true. The "no sparring" is bad enough but if his corner advice is to pound his chest and yell out lion than Yarde needs to dump this guy!

In general people seem to overrate the effect of advice in corner. The amount of times I've seen trainers screaming instructions but the fighter goes out and carries on how he is is insane.

It's rare that corner advice is actually effective.

It's actually fans manifesting their own damn opinions and trying to act like they know more about boxing than the guy who works and studies it every day as well as actually knowing his fighter.

Besides the point, Tunde DID give advice at certain points. So it's a nonsense criticism. Whether his advice or anybody else's would make a difference on the night is besides the point.

We can all look at it and say Tunde should have told Yarde to target the body early, but we don't know what sort of power from Kovalev was affecting Yarde at that point for example. Yarde may not have been able to carry out such a game plan early on because of his lack of experience.

People need to chill the fuck out acting like they know that another trainer would win him the fight.

A great coach now could get 20 % more out of Yarde that what's there now, with Tunde, he will stay the same. He did well to hang with Kov, yesterday, but he is 70% of what he was from the Andre Ward fight 1.

I think Yarde, with better development and training over the past couple of years would have been last nights version of Kovalev who whilst still very good is a bit shot now.
What Yarde accomplished on instinct and athleticism alone is amazing. I could see he really believed in himself and knew he could catch Kovalev if Kovalev was slipping.

But, I get the same feeling I do with Wilder in that, these guys don't know the science but if they did, they'd be absolute nightmares.

Tunde is a weirdo, over the top and does say a lot of outlandish things but he's the guy who pick Yarde up off the streets and made him who he's today. I'm sure if he's not suffering from attention deficit disorder and always feel the need to jump on cameras with his narcissistic/delusional arse - most people won't be crucifying him the way they're doing now because Yarde performed extremely well in that fight. He gave a better account of himself than Alvarez did in the 2nd fight and we'll agree that Alvarez was levels above Yarde prior to the fight. And to the idiots who think Kovalev is done - you'll find out when jabs Canelo's head off. Canelo can't outside that guy on the outside and he doesn't have Yarde's power.

Also, I think Tunde's other crime is the fact that he's black. I'm yet to see any black British boxer - past or present, say anything bad about him. It's the usual suspects and they were the same ones who had their fangs out chatting shi..tt on social media when AJ lost when all of them combined haven't achieved 1/10 of what AJ has achieved. We saw Josh Kelly got battered all over the ring in New York by an average boxer, why didn't they say the same thing about Adam Booth? Anthony Crolla got dragged all over the ring and beaten like a kid by Lomachenko, why didn't they ask him to get rid of his coach? I just hope they keep the same energy with Shane McGuigan next weekend when Lomachenko beats the brakes off Luke Campbell.

I'm not even a fan of Tunde and I don't attention seeking people who live vicariously through their fighters. It's also the same reason why I'm not a fan of Eddie Hearn. But stop the madness. Yarde fought an almost perfect fight - he just gassed out at the end. And to those who said he should've targeted Kovalev's body earlier - if it were that easy, all the boxers he fought before Yarde would've done it. Jump in and get your head taken off with his right hand. You don't just target the body unless there's an opening.

2:24: "We've never been in that situation, it was a first time for us, it was kind of weird to see Anthony tired"

Sparring would have shown you that

Immediately after: "Jabs don't make you tired"

                      Tell Anthony that

3:36: "Anthony showed a lot of heart"

Yeah in the 9th he pointed to his heart more then he threw punches

5:55: "Is there anything you would change in your training methods?" "NO!"

Anthony gassed after the 5th round dude

6:08: "We all know Sergey's got a good jab. The plan for us going in was to pull that jab, pull counter."

We can really tell how well Yarde practiced that pull counter

6:53: "He was making Sergey miss!"

Compubox says Sergey landed 33% of his total punches

9:02: "In the 9th round he just used his skill level to dodge punches."

9:12: "The 10th round from what I can reckon, I'm going to go back and look at the tape, was an even round."

I'd really like to sit with Tunde and watch him try and explain to me why the 10th round was an even round.

9:32: "Anthony wasn't getting beaten up in that fight."
9:39: "You ain't...going to stop someone with a jab."

10:57: "In the ring it always shows whether you've been doing the right thing or the wrong thing and tonight Anthony showed he'd been doing the right thing."

                      Eating jabs all night?

                      Tunde is full of excrement
Yarde is typical of 2019. Looks ripped and easy to sell. Talks a lot of ****. Looks fast vs bums and looks like a ****er vs bums. In reality he is in it to look cool and make money. Over the hill hunched Kovalev beats his ass and exposes him with a Jab alone.
