Porter vs Garcia had 13k fans watching them in Brooklyn. So that whole thing about Porter not selling family dinners is a lie. The fight is PPV because these are two top Welterweights who are Black Americans and have had 4 year beef with each other. The build has been crazy and there are plenty of fans who will pay for the fight.

It’s just a testament of how DAZN failed to end PPV. Cheers to more PPV’s and more butthurt DAZN fanboys.

      What the hell happened?
Hey idiot, boxing is on FREE TV because of PBC.
      - Williams vs. Hurd
      - Plant vs. Uzcategui
      - Harrison vs. Charlo
      - Porter vs. Ugas
      - Santa Cruz vs. Rivera

All these fights were on FOX for FREE. PBC isn’t making you pay $20 to watch garbage fights like Cancio vs Machado or Farmer vs Carroll.

            Wilder vs Fury = 325k
            Pacquiao vs Broner = 400k
            Crawford vs Khan = 150k
            Pacquiao vs Thurman = 500k

That’s a combined 1,375,000 buys and $103,111,250 generated through PPV’s without a mexican in the main event. Mexicans ain’t shît

In Brooklyn where DSG was already a draw. Porter has never been a draw. He was the A side against Ugas and the arena was completely empty.
The build up might be crazy for Spence-Porter but that doesn't mean people will buy it or even attend it just like nobody showed up to their press conference.

Great post! The big problem with PPV is that it was abused. It should be megafights only. Spence/Porter? Not PPV worthy!

All of those buyrates are flops or mediocre on their own. Adding them all up is just sleight of hand to make them seem more successful than they really were.

Canelo vs Chavez Jr alone almost eclipses all of those combined. There is only one PPV star in the sport that can command 80$+ a fight. He no longer fights on PPV, you can watch him for 20$, and because of that any other PPV fight not involving him is a rip off. Spence Vs. Porter is a prime example. That fight belongs on regular Showtime. Spence fights on PPV, but he's not a PPV star. There is a difference.
