DAZN failed to end PPV, instead they enhanced the PPV market

Dazn hasn't really started yet in terms of what they want to accomplish. The aim is to showcase US boxing, to a global audience. For that, US boxing as a whole has to be attractive. That means, competition, rivalries inc between networks. All of this drives the stories in boxing that people pick up on.2018 PPV’s (Pre-DAZN)
1. Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin ll
2. Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury
2019 PPV’s (Post-DAZN)
1. Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner
2. Errol Spence vs Mikey Garcia
3. Terence Crawford vs Amir Khan
4. Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman
5. Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter
6. Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz ll
7. Danny Garcia vs Mikey Garcia (Maybe)
DAZN’s strategy backfired and because of them, the amount of PPV’s have tripled since last year. DAZN takes a huge L and DAZN is a huge failure
Like the English premier league's growth in 25 years from the manchester united era, to arsenal, to cheslea's takeover by a russian oligarch to man city's takeover by abu dhabi group.
Putting on Ruiz vs AJ in Saudi is part of that gradual process.
currently the EPL is HUGE throughout asia and africa. That's where the bulk of money is now coming.
Get boxing even a small fraction of those fans and dazn have 10m subs globally. That's $1b a year.
If you're one of those dumb xenophobic ****s who doesnt know anything about the global market and HUGE potential boxing has, more fool you.Comment

I'm not getting it.
PBC fanboys used to boast about boxing being on free tv and insult everyone paying for PPV. Now it's the opposite. They sneer at people opting for cheaper alternatives like DAZN's, while bragging about PBC selling PPV for $60-$100 a pop.
What the hell happened?Comment

Are you these ******? How can dazn just end ppv in the state which has been their major bragging right and rip off. It will take time for these over zealous fans to understand the concept of dazn and what its trying to achieve.Hahaha it went from "DAZN will end PPV", to "They didn't say they'll do it within a year". So when is DAZN going to finally end the PPV market? Because I seen nothing but PPV stacked on top of PPV's this year. And there are more potential PPV's to look forward to in 2020,
1. Wilder vs Fury
2. Errol Spence vs Terence Crawford
3. Errol Spence vs Manny Pacquiao
And we all know Bob Arum is getting ready to put Loma on PPV. DAZN is on suicide watch LOL!!
Don't be a hater....obviously you love been ripped off just to brag about the money generated on ppv.
Keep paying fools money and be smiling.Comment

Yeah, Haymon was the one who first dreamt of ending PPV. I guess we can definitely say he failed.I'm not getting it.

All those PPVs had very modest buyrates. Nothing to write home about.2018 PPV’s (Pre-DAZN)

PBC could've rendered their competition obsolete if they had showcased their fighters in meaningful fights on the biggest platforms possible. Instead we got garbage like Wilder vs. Duhapaus and Stevenson vs. Bika. PBC was supposed to become the UFC of boxing and instead had to settle for whatever scraps Fox had leftover after their WWE Smackdown deal and Showtime boxing is practically dead. Instead of taking over the sport, PBC left the door wide open for somebody like DAZN to come in and take away some of the market share that could have been theirs.Comment

Spence-Porter is nowhere near being PPV worthy. Porter can't even sell out a family dinner to quote Spence. The fight is only on PPV because you have to pay these guys enough money to keep them from defecting to a rival platform.Comment
