DAZN failed to end PPV, instead they enhanced the PPV market

    2018 PPV’s (Pre-DAZN)
    1. Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin ll
    2. Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury

    2019 PPV’s (Post-DAZN)
    1. Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner
    2. Errol Spence vs Mikey Garcia
    3. Terence Crawford vs Amir Khan
    4. Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman
    5. Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter
    6. Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz ll
    7. Danny Garcia vs Mikey Garcia (Maybe)

DAZN’s strategy backfired and because of them, the amount of PPV’s have tripled since last year. DAZN takes a huge L and DAZN is a huge failure

How does DAZN take an L? If anything all those PPV's will make DAZN a more attractive option for boxing fans. PBC already feeling the heat and can't compete so have to put fights on PPV just to pay the fighters. The people taking the L are US boxing fans, supporting these ridiculous PPV's.

Motorcity would be proud of the effort. Thats a hell of alot of money on PPV cards right there. Bragging about getting ripped off, you are backwards young apprentice. Not quite right in the head.

They take an L for claiming that they will end PPV

Hearn: Canelo/DAZN Deal Will End PPV Boxing In the United States
Eddie Hearn believes the historic deal Canelo Alvarez, Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN have struck will signal the end of pay-per-view boxing in the United States. The 28-year-old Alvarez’s 11-fight contract with the new streaming service reportedly could be worth as much as $365 million. It’ll also make the Mexican superstar’s fights available as part of a $9.99 monthly subscription to DAZN

Then sit around and watch as six PPV's happen within one year. Tripling the amount of PPV's in 2018.

Did they say they would end PPV within a year?

The PPVs are a desperate attempt to hang on. PBC can't compete with what DAZN are paying fighters. But all it's going to do is drive more people away from PPV. PPV is dying. Companies like the WWE already know this, why do you think they switched monthly sub?

Canelo leaving the PPV market is what opened up some slots for others. Pacquiao would have been on PPV last year had he fought stateside but he wasn't so his fight wasn't on PPV.

Then FOX is really big on PPVs as they had one per month with the UFC so they want four a year in their current PBC deal. Obviously Spence/Garcia ended up being a huge success so that led to Spence/Porter being on PPV.

But yeah, PPV isn't dead and now that apparently the PBC is getting a bigger split than the typical 50/50 split with cable companies, PPVs aren't going anywhere. I bet TR eventually starts putting their PPVs though ESPN+ like the UFC does. If Fury beats Wilder in the rematch, he's fighting on PPV for pretty much rest of his career.
