That is why a while back on the board I said that Margarito should change his strategy and book a fight with Baldomir at any cost. If he wins and becomes the linear champ, then Floyd will have literally no excuse.
Ah, yes. That makes sense for sure. But after Baldy won his fight over Gatti, guess what fighter was curiously missing from his hit-list in the post-fight interview?

I think you see the problem here. People just find reason after reason to not fight this hard ****ing Mexican.

None of the champs seem interested in Tony in the least.

actaully i can, HE DID NOT HAVE TO FIGHT ZAB. Baldi would have fought him.

Floyd just wanted ppv type money

Sounds so simple too, they just don't get it...

You are right but I think Baldomir has a different motivation than the other fighters. Baldomir doesn't care about Margarito's resume or the danger of the fight. Baldomir simply wants to cash in on his new fame. Floyd and Hatton will both want a lion's share of the profits and Baldomir won't have all too much ground to negotiate as the other guys are the main draw. But Margarito could offer him the lion's share of the profits. What would be the big deal... Margarito is looking at a low payday right now anyway. At least taking this fight for peanuts sets up a big money fight next if he wins. I think Margarito will think he can win easily and therefore won't have a problem giving up some $ in the short term for more $ in the long run.

sure, but he being #1 p4p he really didnt need those belts..especially according to him...

So, I don't think Antonio has a much better resume, despite being around longer, and I don't think the money is neccesarily much higher for a Margarito fight. We'll see. Just my opinion...but I think Baldomir is a better option right now at 147 as the linear Welterweight champion of the world. Adds to Floyd's credential.
Cintron is as good as Gatti is now. No way can Gatti stand in there with Cintron at this point. He's just too faded. The difference between Lewis and Judah is negligible.

As for Baldy's worth...Margarito is still seen as the better fighter than Baldy, so that's a better win for Floyd. Like I said, fighting Baldy is a good move for Floyd and a respectable one...but not because Baldy is better than Floyd. Very few people in the boxing media and hardcore fanbase would go along with that thinking and for good reason.

And Bob Arum put a vote out to fans and the fans resoundingly voted to see Judah instead of Baldomir even after the loss. Most people believed that the Judah-Baldomir fight was a total fluke... I can't say that I was of a different opinion then.

Good point. Even though a lot of the crappy guys were at lower weights where Floyd had beaten most of the other elite guys already and he wasn't planning a move up in weight yet.

k, now after seeing Baldi Ko Gatti( not that that makes him great, but does prove he isnt a slouch) dont you think him being "ring" champ at the time that he deserved a good payday? he got 1.5 mil for Gatti.. you dont think he derseved 1.5 mil for Floyd?
