I am not sure what would happen if Floyd and Margarito actually fought, but what makes you so sure that Margarito would win easily? Has Margarito ever faced an opponent like Floyd? I don't think Margarito has ever faced someone with as much speed and boxing skill. Clearly Margarito holds a trump card in that he can KO Floyd while Floyd cannot KO him (at least with one punch). But how do you know that this would not look like Mayweather-Gatti where the power puncher was simply too slow with hand and feet to ever get off a decent punch.

We dont know how much he makes, we dont know whats in the contract, we just dont know. Why are we speculating on what we dont know or cant see? It was just said, thats it. Less speculate on what we do know as to why Floyd aint fighting Margarito. He has a lackluster career, he got the weakest belt at 147, their are other fighters who are available who have better careers and better belts (Spinks and Baldomier). Since when as the pound for pound best boxer in the world have to PROVE himself. His position is already solidified as one of the best, now ask yourself does Margarito do anything to make him the best boxer in history?

Margarito will impose relentless pressure, high punch output, he is bigger, stronger, busier fighter, Maragrito will hunt him down. Floyd is allergic to pressure and has brittle hands.

Can we please stop talking about the $$$, as boxing fans we aint get paid too so damned the $$$. Only thing that should matter to us is skill or legacy. margarito doesnt have Floyd's skill and does nothing for Floyd's legacy. There is no winning in that fight right now to me as a fan. Baldomier doesnt have Floyd's skill either but its more than Margarito. Baldomier does provide legacy with him being the welterweight champ and a win over him would make Floyd the linear champ at another weight division. Spinks has Floyd skill or close to it and does a lot for his legacy unfortunately. A win over Spinks will make him a champion 5 times in 5 different weight classes and he will also beat the #1 ranked boxer at 154. Also it makes it even more enticing for Delahoya to fight him and unify the titles. I think the Spinks fight would prolly be boring, but it is still 2 champions who have had some major accomplishments thru their careers.

Diego, its seem to me if u Floyd right now, u damned if u do and damned if u dont. At first he gets criticize about being all about the $$$, now he is being damned for wanting to fight a worthy competitor who has some accomplishment and get $$$ too, and he still cant win. Me persoanlly, I dont care who he fights or how much $$$ he is going to make. I just want to see him fight this year thats all. It doesnt matter who he fights right now, it wont be competitive until he is able to fight a Mosley, a Hatton, a Wright, and maybe a Cotto. the maragaritos, Baldomiers, and Spinks of the world will be sparring sessions anyways.

What if Floyd's hands hold up fine? And while I'll agree with you that the way to beat Floyd is to constantly pressure him, he did beat Jose Luis Castillo twice (please don't come back and tell me about how JLC won, it is how it is). Personally, I feel that Castillo is a more skilled fighter than Margarito but with less power. Basically I am saying that if Margarito doesn't KO Floyd, he will have a difficult time winning a decision.

he is a legit Welter in his PRIME. current title holder..Floyd has not fought the best at 140 and now again at 147. he is calling out past their prime Mosley and Dela. Dela is figting twice in three years...

if Floyd decides to fight Baldi and wins, he will no doubt be the "ring" champ at 147 BUT he will not have proven himself against the best once again in another weight class.

ive been watching Margarito way before Arum started promoting him....there is a good reason why Floyd dont wanna fight him
