I agree. I actually like Ruiz but if anyone took this stance he would be vilified. He was complaining about coming to the Uk, saying he wants the fight in Mexico knowing full well what he originally signed. Now his coach is echoing his sentiments, meanwhile American fans feel AJ is scared that’s why he made it in Saudi Arabia so it can be cancelled

I had respect for Ruiz when he got the titles and convincingly beat Joshua but now Ruiz is Wilder Mk2 - looking for excuses to get his own way.

Saudi is a ****e location for fans. If it is true that Hearn only needed to tell Ruiz the date and location then it should have been a UK venue.

All these people saying NY is neutral is just a divisive rhetoric internal to the US. A Brit looking at the US only see's the US, not NY vs Cali. The same way a Yank doesn't see Wales v England, its just the UK to them.

Changed my mind about this fiasco.

Used to think than Andy should just fulfill his contract, get paid, and if he loses negotiate a rubber match for more money. Everybody wins. AJ gets postured again as this monster HW who had an off night and Andy can eat all the doritos he want. Everybody wins.

But the fact that Hearn didn't even f'ng talk to Ruiz about the venue and just held a press conference is him acting in bad faith.

I say good for the lucky fat bastard. Stick to your guns. I don't know about laws you got there but in general, contracts can be made void if one party is acting in bad faith, something Hearn was clearly doing.

Yes and Hearn is indeed a moron. If he had a couple of brain cells the conversation with Andy should go something like:

Hearn: "Hey Andy just wanna let you know the rematch will happen in Saudi Arabia"

Ruiz: "I don't really want to fight there"

Hearn: "Well you signed a contract so you kinda have to do it."

Ruiz: "Welp. Alright. Can I get my 9 mil in snickers?"

That’s easy he got smoked so maybe morally he Should go back to the scene of the crime but logically because let’s be frank if he loses the rematch he is toast. Any adroit promoter would stage the rematch at an advantage to his fighter so long as he is in a position to call the shots.
