Maybe if Groupon took EBT cards ggg could sell out a small venue on one of the two biggest fight weekends of the year.

Can a promoter legally promise a fight for one of their fighters, I assume yes as thats their job, they are the registered agent for that purpose. Sounds like that is what GBP did here with Dazn.

Now can a promoter legally promise a fight without asking their fighter, no idea but that would seem to be a very bad idea, especially if that fighter is your golden goose. I mean maybe they can legally as they have that right in their contract with Canelo, but it would poison the relationship.

Canelo isn't on twitter taking shots at Dazn as far as I know. Would not be surprised if Canelo leaves GBP, basically goes independant or uses Matchroom fight by fight to put on the shows but not as a proper full promoter.

GBP should have NEVER come to any agreement with DAZN for the trilogy without getting the green light from Canelo. And that led to GGG getting the type of deal he got. If DAZN never gets the trilogy, then giving GGG 100M for six fights will end up being one of the worst deals of all time.

                which is fkn hilarious

Depends what language is in the GBP-Canelo promotional contract. It is not uncommon for the promoter to have a signed power of attorney with the fighter. And if GBP has that power of attorney, then they have the legal right to bind Canelo to whatever deal they signed.

Will be interesting to see how this all plays out........
