Bottom line is whatever the contracts show. And if it isn't in the contract, shame on DAZN for acting like amateurs hoping that a third fight would take place cause hope is a check that almost always bounces. If they promised GGG a third fight and didn't get both of their signatures on a contract, then that really looks ******. Canelo is only obligated to what he promised with a signature and nothing more.

The issue here stems from GBP agreeing to something without getting Canelo's consent. He did NOT agree to the third fight yet GBP apparently signed an agreement with DAZN guaranteeing the trilogy. You could say Canelo is a diva or he's this or that, but he has every right to be upset if these reports are true. GBP should have NEVER come to any agreement with DAZN for the trilogy without getting the green light from Canelo. And that led to GGG getting the type of deal he got. If DAZN never gets the trilogy, then giving GGG 100M for six fights will end up being one of the worst deals of all time.

So DAZN wanted Canelo but had to take on Golden Boy aswell. Signed Canelo and Golden Boy to separate deals, and waited for Oscar to **** up. Void the Golden Boy deal, keep Canelo, bring along Ryan Garcia for the ride.

The issue with GBP and DAZN is obvious but just another layer to the constellation of connected tissues in this tangled-up situation - because from Canelo's perspective, if it isnt in his contract, then GBP/DAZN/GGG can duke it out in court while Canelo kicks back on the sidelines and waits to see what the casualties are from the fallout. Canelo can laugh at anyone who assumed he would fight GGG for the third time without getting his approval first.

I'm still curious at how GGG has it in his contract where DAZN guaranteed him a Canelo fight. I didn't even know that was possible or even legal.

But you are right, Canelo is in the clear here when he it comes to any legal issues regarding a third fight with GGG. He did not agree to anything.

If it’s not in wording in the contract it means nothing. If Oscar told DAZN that to get his side deal with them for GBP that’s on him.

Oscar and Skipper went on a wild binge, woke up with tons of signed contracts. Skipper says "what are all these", Oscar replies "we'll worry about that later, lets go get bummed by some hookers".

While those promotional companies and GGG battle it out, Canelo can relax and have a Tecate. But not sure how DAZN could promise GGG a third fight since Canelo had already been signed up with DAZN for whatever they agreed upon before GGG was signed. And if that agreement they made with Canelo before signing GGG had nothing in it about a third fight, Canelo cannot be held to something that he was not a part of. So GGG may have to sue DAZN, and then or at the same time, DAZN will have to sue GBP. It will be fun to watch, like 3 hyenas in a fight at the same time, turn up a plume of dust and then seeing what is left when the dust settles. It will be great entertainment for everyone, including Canelo who will be amused like the rest of us.

I'm sure I see it somewhere that Golden Boy agreed to the Golovkin fight in their deal, since theyre the ones that pay for Canelo's opponents. Canelo has his own deal and gets paid directly from DAZN. Canelo's pissed that they were using his name on their own deal and guaranteeing **** without his consent.
