    I agree to an extent.

The 90s should have been the decade where Tyson entered his absolute peak and prime but all his life distractions and poor choices negated that unfortunately.

However as it stands despite being born at the same time as most of the top 90s HW's, I think you have to rate Tyson among the best 80s heavyweights instead.

I miss the 90s Heavyweight division but I love the 1970s Heavyweight division greater.

        70s by some margin.

I loved the 90s. It was my era. But it's very overrated. People seem to think we got all the fights all the time. But they were mostly avoided until the top fighters were past their prime.

no fella it was just his size that pretty much kept him competitive in his comeback......refused to step in the ring with Lewis and foreman’s victories were against small or limited heavies...moorer , Shultz etc.
The best heavyweight of the 70’s vs the best of the 90’ would be 50/50 with Ali vs Lewis ...bowe would beat most 70’ heavy and Holyfield would be a night mare for Frazier ......Tyson already destroyed Holmes before.
Prime for prime it’s a toss up

Lyle vs Foreman, Ali vs Foreman, Ali vs Frazier 1 & 3...I'd rather watch them on replay than the entire 90s HW library and I loved the 90s (Bowe/Foreman especially), there were some really great 80s HW fight too:

The 90's by a long shot. They had a much deeper division. The 70's are grotesquely overrated with it being top heavy and with very basic fighters with little skill.

                  1970s was greater

But head to head matchups 90s guys would win more

Only like Ali and foreman and Holmes can beat the 90s guys

The reason why I say the 1970s HW were greater is because it was a much more competitive decade and they all fought one another. Those guys had much more heart and desire; In addition, they were hungrier and wanted it a lot more for less money than the 1990 Heavyweights.

While true, the 1990s Heavyweights had more talent and ability than the 1970s Heavyweights but hardly any of them fought each other. There was just too much politics and ducking in the division during that decade.

For example, Tyson never fought Rid**** Bowe, Ray Mercer, Shannon Briggs or David Tua in the 1990s. George Foreman never fought Rid**** Bowe, Lennox Lewis or Mike Tyson.

While the 1990s had some very good competitive and highly entertaining fights but in the 1970s the best always challenged the best. There was no ducking allowed.
