If a fighter loses every round on all scorecards going into round 9 the fight is automatically stopped. I remember the Jesus Chavez-Levander Johnson fight where Chavez won every round of the fight before the ref stopped the fight in the 11th. There's literally no point in fighting on just to take more punishment when there's no chance to win at all.
What can be done to prevent more tragic boxing deaths like Maxim Dadashev's?

Unfortunately, they have shown that they are not very observant. Fight after fight guys just get sent back out to take more and more punishment. Recently there's fights like Spence-Garcia, Dogboe-Navarrete 1 and even Ugas-Figueroa which were all one sided fights that nobody (ref, corner, commission or doctor) stopped the fight. Larry Hazard was the only commissioner that would ever stop fights, perhaps he should give other commission's advice on how to stop fights.Last edited by RoyJonesJrp4pno1; 07-23-2019, 06:25 PM.Comment

There were several fights like that even though I can’t think one straight off my head.
Boxing is the theatre of the unexpected where anything can happen at any given moment. This is why people are drawn to the sport, no?
If you start putting too much restrictions, the competition isnt pure anymore.Comment

I agree. I don't really think there's much you can do. They're never going to lessen the rounds from 3 minutes, and sure you can make non-title fights 10 rds or less, but who's to say that a guy doesn't get hit right and something like this happens in round 7? Or round 5?
The right punch in the right spot with enough force, at any time, could put someone in serious trouble. Or worse.Comment

I've been a hardcore fan since the late 90's I can't think of too many.
However, I'm interested to see your huge list of fighter's that had lost rounds 1-8 and came back to win the fight.Comment

Yeah I was watching and when his corner was helping him walk out of the ring I was saying "Wtf help him!" to the computer screen because it was obvious he was in big trouble but the EMS people seemed to be on break or something. They totally should have put him on a stretcher and to an ambulance right after he left the ring.Comment
