Why are some of you guys obsessed with the “Venue and date?” forget about the venue and date, the rematch would happen when Team Joshua says so. No one from Team Joshua has claimed an announcement is coming thus far, the only thing they have done is exercise the rematch clause.

The guy who won has no say in a lot of the things that is going to happen, winning the first fight doesn’t mean Team ruiz calls the shot, there is a reason Team whyte turned down the Joshua fight, they had zero control of the rematch, so I doubt Team Ruiz has any too.

Again they just had the fight on June 1, venues and date doesn’t turn up just like that, it takes a lot of work to put that in..

No you guys are obsessed with it, you don’t spend this much energy on it when it comes to Wilder/Ortiz rematch. And it doesn’t matter if Eddie is lying or not lying, there is a contract and that stipulation decides everything. We know from history that voluntary challenger aren’t the A-side just because they won the first fight. Especially when that Voluntary challenger is not even a B/C or D-side in the first fight.

So chill all of you, Team Ruiz aren’t going to risk a massive payday, lawsuit etc just because of some internet haymonite fan boys

I think the hold up is AJ, Sky, & DAZN. AJ & Sky obviously want it in the UK. DAZN wants it in the US. Even more now that that September Canelo fight was cancelled.

Also the money. The splits were probably agreed to for the rematch but the actual dollars weren't because you can't gauge the amount of money the second fight will make before you have the first fight. So if more money can be made in the US then Ruiz doesn't want to go to the UK unless he's getting more than what he could've made here

It's Obvious, you haven't studied contract law. The venue stipulation in the original rematch clause has to be in writing which it was not.

Since it was not in writing then it becomes negotiable. While true, Ruiz owes Joshua a rematch yet at the same time he doesn't owe him a venue.

That's why the talks are currently being stalled and delayed.

If the venue and everything was agreed to before the first fight then what's the holdup on naming the venue? In the same video this article talks about Hearn says the choice is up to AJ & he goes on to say AJ wants it back at MSG. Then he said other locations have phoned him this week about staging the fight. Which is something I highly doubt because legitimate offers for a fight of this magnitude would've been sent in weeks ago. And every week he's saying the announcement is coming. If Ruiz has no say as you all claim then this fight would've already had a venue and date. Starting to sound like the same people who kept telling me Canelo is fighting GGG in September and Canelo has no say

The venue would not be written into the contract. Who gets to pick the venue definitely would be written into the contract, and it will be AJ and Hearn who make that choice.

Hearn is not negotiating anything with Ruiz, he will be negotiating stuff like fees, percentage cuts, etc, with different venues who have bid for the fight, and weighing the financial benefits against the benefit to AJ of having home advantage in Cardiff.

This^^^^. The fight happens in a ring so at the end of the day we shall see. Am just at people who think the fight should be announced now, if not there is an issue. Every fight has their challenges, the rematch is also big money for any network, especially with what happened in the first fight. All this trying to dream up scenarios or thinking Ruiz is the one running the show is laughable.

I think Hearn first priority is getting those belts back, he couldn’t care less what Team Joshua actually wants, for Joshua’s future ego what’s best for him? Winning the belts back in the UK? Winning back at the same place where he lost it? Or losing the rematch? I think Hearn fancy Joshua’s chances more if the fight happens in the UK, that’s why he personally wants that fight in the UK.

I haven’t seen anything of the contract yet ... Ruiz might have a case if the rematch wasn’t in the contract ect
