Run it back in Vegas. Don’t go to the Uk. AJ got somewhere close to 20 seconds to recover from a knock down at MSG(not blaming AJ)!! They’ll probably give him a minute over there or they’ll turn off the lights. Andy should tell Hern it’s either here in America or no fight.

I hope Ruiz has the power to say that, but I doubt the contract he signed wouldn’t prevent him from saying so. That’s the chances you take when you are a voluntary challenger, otherwise you can wait for 3 years to get a shot like Whyte. Or you can risk a lawsuit like Hasim Rahman nearly did with his rematch against Lennox Lewis.

Ruiz signed a contract that if he won 1st fight that the rematch would be in a venue of AJ Joshua's choosing so yes Joshua would be calling the shots for rematch

Actually, this is what was circulating earlier this week but I don’t know if it’s true or not.

The venue would not be written into the contract. Who gets to pick the venue definitely would be written into the contract, and it will be AJ and Hearn who make that choice.

Hearn is not negotiating anything with Ruiz, he will be negotiating stuff like fees, percentage cuts, etc, with different venues who have bid for the fight, and weighing the financial benefits against the benefit to AJ of having home advantage in Cardiff.

I think the hold up is AJ, Sky, & DAZN. AJ & Sky obviously want it in the UK. DAZN wants it in the US. Even more now that that September Canelo fight was cancelled.

Also the money. The splits were probably agreed to for the rematch but the actual dollars weren't because you can't gauge the amount of money the second fight will make before you have the first fight. So if more money can be made in the US then Ruiz doesn't want to go to the UK unless he's getting more than what he could've made here

It doesn't matter what Ruiz wants. He signed a legally binding contract and he will have to honour the promise he made in that contract or face the consequences in court.

Hearn has said he isn't worried about needing to get legal on Ruiz, because Andy is an honourable man who will keep his word and fulfill the terms of his contract.
