Something tells me the rematch probably won’t happen. I don’t believe Ruiz and his camp should agree to fighting in the UK as the current champion unless there is a substantial amount of more money involved than MSG or another US venue. What about Jerry Jones World at Texas stadium? A lot of the Mexican and Hispanic nation would come out to support that fight. If they push the date back to December 21st, that venue is available because the Dallas Cowboys are playing away at Philadelphia on December 22nd.

But I know the UK stadium that Hearn mentioned has a seating capacity of 74,500 and Jerry World seats 65,675. MSG only seats 20,789. I guess that’s the tough part about it. The US stadiums that are in partnership to host boxing events aren’t built with the largest seat capacities in the world. If the US college football stadiums got into the mix of boxing, that would be huge for boxing. Like the Michigan stadium that seats over 110,000, 2nd largest stadium in the world or Penn State the seats the 3rd largest.
Has to be indoor for a winter fight, obviously.

But the Jerry Dome capacity is for football. That’s 100 yards of field that can be used for boxing seating ... premium seats. And they don’t open up all the capacity for football (there’s standing room, etc.).

Wrestlemania in 2016 drew 101,000 in Dallas (Arlington, Tx., to be specific0 at the Jerry Dome.

      Man this is bullshit.

They're gonna hire Luis Pabon, the ref who allowed Wladimir to clinch Povetkin.

100 million % there is problems with this rematch or it would be been announced already, do not believe a word ***** says he is a life lier and would sell his mother for a few quid. Sky is want the fight in uk and are pressuring him to deliver and dazn want it in usa and are telling him its part of his agreed contract with them, so let's see wot happens, I think uncle Al wins the day, ruiz shud not come to uk as the freemason refs and judges will Rob him, in usa Andy kos femmi again.

What’s all this talk about Ruiz being stripped of the belts?

AJ is not a mandatory. The governing bodies have nothing to do with enforcing a rematch clause. If Ruiz doesn’t go through with the rematch it’s a matter for the courts if Eddie/AJ/Matchroom have anything to stand on contract-wise, but the contract can’t strip him of the belts.

No doubt. The ref will be under the same instructions that they were in the Parker v AJ fight. He split it up as soon as Parker got in range to work.

No doubt he’ll jump in and stop the fight if Ruiz gets rocked slightly with a flurry too.

Ruiz is really up against it here. He won’t be getting any decision in a remotely competitive fight. He will have a ref against him and ready to stop him at any point he can get an excuse to.

Yea, also, in Jerry world the roof opens AND closes depending on the weather and the last fight hosted there at AT&T stadium, was Errol Spence and Mikey Garcia. There was 47,525 in Attendance recorded.

That Italian ref from the Parker fight is sitting by the phone waiting!

Of course, AJ was always meant to win the fix at MSG. He could have run for 9 rounds after the first KD and would have won handsomely if he’d avoided getting knocked down

The first fight Andy Ruiz, fought on Eddie Hearn's and Matchroom Sport's terms. He accepted all of their conditions; Including opponent, location, venue and date.

He even accepted short money on a short notice fight. Eddie Hearn has to realize that Anthony Joshua is no longer the champion but Andy Ruiz is. Therefore, he has the right to fight where he damn well pleases.

So it's time for Team Joshua to start respecting and accepting Ruiz' terms as the new champion. Matchroom Sport needs to be reminded that Andy Ruiz doesn't need them. They need him in order to get those belts back.

By the time this dispute is over, chances are all of the title belts will be vacated or stripped. Then Joshua may never see those titles again anyhow.
Yeah, and one of those terms agreed to was the rematch stipulations, whereby Hearn has control of the venue and date, with the financials agreed to in the original contract

It can, depending on how the contracts are drawn up. Governing bodies are still involved in the contracts as they’re part of the sanctioning bodies for the fight.

If Hearn has it in writing with the governing bodies that Ruiz must rematch AJ with their belts involved, then he has to. It’s entirely dependant on how the contract is drawn up and Hearn has basically said Ruiz had to agree to all these clauses to get the fight.

Even if he couldn’t be stripped right now, he’s contractually obliged to fight AJ next, so if he doesn’t, then he is inactive and tied up in a court case and unable to fight anyone else and will end up being stripped regardless.

The only way Ruiz keeps those belts is beat AJ next. That’s his only option.

The obvious question: if it’s all agreed to, why is Cardiff the frontrunner and not already announced?

                      It is curious.
