Where did Canelo agree to it? Do you have a source?

The president of the WBC was the one who pulled this ridiculous franchise belt out of his ass. Not Canelo.

Who came up with the idea is irrelevant.

Canelo didn't want to fight Charlo and this is the WBC's way of giving him what he wants and staying sweet with Haymon at the same time.

You can't say it's irrelevant and then blame Canelo for it.

            That's not how logic works.

do you honestly believe canelo wants none of charlo?, or maybe charlo being on pbc and under mando circumstances was the reason for this wbc move... you know the whole purse split, then bid, then the possibility of canelo being to forced out of DAZN while having this 11 fight contract...
imo fights are easier to negotiate without mando stipulations...

The only difference is this new status WBC made up means canelo is free from the burden of mandatory challenges. He dropped nothing he is still the true WBC champ. Want to blame someone for creating multiple champs in the same division blame the WBC not Canelo.
The Franchise title is nothing like the WBA super title.

WBA super champions have mandatory challengers and they also defend the super title in voluntaries.

The Franchise title is for Canelo alone. He doesn't have to defend it against anybody because nobody else can fight for it.

I'm absolutely sure that Canelo, or Oscar, want none of Charlo, not this year at least and possibly never. I doubt that Haymon wants any of Canelo for Charlo too.

The enmity between Oscar and Haymon is very likely the reason for this latest example of ridiculous foolery and corruption in the MW division.

About time. Rocky Fielding had his shot, let Boo Boo get his.
                    Hope it actually happens.
