That statement just about coves it. Sulaman cares more about the WBC 's relevance (money) than a fighter's claim, right or wrong. Haymon cares about keeping his best fighters away from DAZAN and Canelo has his choice of top fighters and doesn't need the belt to get fights.

I might be the only one but I don't think afraid has anything to do with it. Haymon, Charlo and Showtime are an inconvenience Oscar isn't willing to even consider and Sulaman knows it.

I wouldn't be at all supersized if a Wilder franchise belt was part of the deal in return but that's pure speculation

He fought Culcay, Sulecki, Kautondokwa and tried to get in with boogeyman BJS before Saunders sabotaged the deal. Get Derevyanchenko in there and Demetrious will have fought and beaten every dangerous guy but the most popular and that should tell you something.

All of Charlo's competition has been a step below the names mentioned in what appears to be a pattern.

I can’t even really blame Charlo? When the WBC ordered Charlo vs. GGG he said he was down. It was GGG who said no and found Rolls in the Yellow Pages.
