Jacobs stalled the fight as much as he could and ended up with over 40% of the purse. He had a chance to unify against the bigger star and almost scuttled the fight over 500k. If he would have won be was almost guaranteed a fight with Canelo. Cheap bastard.

This is THE fight at 160. But if it doesn't happen, the next big fight is Jermall Charlo against Demetrius Andrade for the unified WBC/WBO belts. Canelo wants nothing to do with his WBC mandatory (Charlo) so he's now a "franchise", free to fight whomever he wants but NOT free to keep the IBF belt without satisfying their mandatory. So presumably Canelo will drop the IBF belt and the Charlo-Andrade winner can then fight for the IBF strap. This means that a unified WBC/IBF/WBO champion is still possible if Canelo chooses to snub history and avoid an undisputed fight with Andrade. But his win over Jacobs should have been enough to help him believe that he can beat Andrade...

This is the best fight that can be made at MW right now. It would unify the division which is a big deal and rarely happens in boxing.

For all you guys saying GGG needs to be the next fight, get over it. Canelo beat him in the 2nd fight (even though I had GGG narrowingly winning the 1st fight). If GGG wanted to guarantee a 3rd fight he should have taken Andrades belt. Instead he choose an easier route. He deserves criticism for that.

Charlo would likely be a more exciting fight because of styles. And something I would want to see. But promotional issues makes that fight difficult and no one except hardcore fans wanna see it. Which means promoters have no incentive to make it happen.
