When Kovalev's name was thrown around as a possibility a couple months ago everyone said Canelo isn't serious there is no way he moves up to light heavy and fights a guy like Kovalev. He is too dangerous and Canelo is too small if he does he is taking a beating. Don't believe me take a look at some of these comments

With Ward who was the consensus top guy retiring there is no consensus top guy at Light Heavyweight but Kovalev is either number 1 or number 2 top rated Light Heavy champ in all rankings according to Ring Magazine, ESPN, Boxrec, etc

Jumping up 2 weight classes and beating the at worst 2nd best light heavyweight in the world is a accomplishment no matter how you guys try to frame it.
