Kovalev's name is nowhere as big as it was pre Alvarez and pre ward, and he was never that big of a name to begin with. To say that he's going after kovalev because of his name is nothing more than an excuse to avoid the 3 other younger undefeated champions at that weight. He picked the lowest hanging fruit at 168,and he's trying to do the same at 175. The funny part is,if the fight is actually at 175 with no rehydration clauses,I favor kovalev to knock the ginger out in less that 6 rounds.
Kovalev is Rated #1 on BoxRec in the division.
Kovalev is the only name I know among current Title Holders in the division.

Gvozdyk's last fight was against 8-loss Doudou Ngumbu(-who?) and a 41-year old Adonis Stevenson before that.

Bivol has built himself up off of guys Kovalev has beaten.

Beterbiev is even lesser accomplished than the other two.

canelo is a MW fighter, why are you demanding him to fight every one at 175? if he goes up in weight it will be for a name, and today the biggest name there is kovalev... and i have yet to see canelo call out anyone at 168 or 175...

Canelo schooled his ass twice and you still saying he is refusing to fight him? Please stop sucking GGG caulk for a minute and think about what you just said.

Kovalev is still the best in the division and probably the most dangerous. He looked very good in his last fight. This is why boxing fans are some of the worst - he could literally go up at heavyweight to fight Wilder and some people would say that he’s cherry picking as Wilder is rubbish and lost to Fury etc

There's always the "prize"-fighting aspect to sport of Boxing to consider. And if you don't know that, you are showing your ignorance.

lets also ignore the fact that canelo fights 2 weight classes below... he hasnt called out kova yet, but if he does it will be cuz kova is the biggest name there...
why is anyone asking for a MW fighter to go and clean 168 and 175 ??

First of all, its Canelo's team who suggested the fight. You have Hearn and even Kovalev himself mentioning it.

Secondly I'm not asking Canelo to move up 2 weights. He is clearly 2 small for light heavy. He still has unfinished business at 160 and some very good fights at 168 should he decide to move up. However if he is going to call out these guys then he should not try and do what he has done previously and play the catch weight game.

I have very little respect for Canelo, given his diva antics and the fact that he's a drugs cheat

                    They know whom to pick....

Kovalev is very vulnerable to body shots, which is Canelo's best weapon.

Bivol fought a 36-year old Pascal one fight ago
Bivol fought a 36-year old Barrera last year
(by far the two highest rated oppts on Bivol's resume)

Gvodzyk fought a 37-year old Ngumbu in his last fight
Gvodzyk fought a 41-year old Stevenson one fight ago
Gvodzyk fought a 35-year old Mehid Amar last year

Why don't Bivol or Gvodzyk go after Artur Beterbiev?
Artur Beterbiev has the IBF belt...
Oh and he also has a 100% KO ratio

Sergey Kovalev is 36 years old, btw.
