But a thread like this without a link to the source of the info being given shouldn't be taken seriously. It's really nothing more than rumour mongering.
And yet, emotional fight fans are soiling themselves as if it were from God's mouth.

And the TS refuses to post a link.

Didn’t need a link or even this thread to tell me what I already knew from Canelo’s recent history.

Chavez, Jacobs and Fielding, if he won’t face those guys without draining them down you would have to be crazy to think he’d face Kovalev, even old Kovalev at full strength.

          Or do you disagree?

Fans should require/demand links to prove their POV.

Okay, if that’s your point then I cannot disagree.

              Carry on...

Not the first time and won't be the last.

Catchweights are not a new thing.

Yeah you can if the champion agrees. You can't force him to fight at a cw.

how many times your favorite fighter begged for a catch weight

Why even fight the guy? If you need to drain them, leave it.

Yes and yes. I'm so sick to death of "A-side" rationalizations, as if the mere fact that it can be gotten away with and opposition will ultimately concede to the terms for the right number somehow serves as justification in of itself. Such a groveling fanboy mentality. I swear there is an entire subset of fanboy who gets off vicariously on the "flex" of A-side stipulations. "Yeah Canelo, make him your *****!" And spare me the tired Mayweather whataboutism...it was garbage when he did it as well. It's garbage when anyone pulls it...that's the whole point. Basically anyone who considers themselves a true fan of the sport (and not just fighters a, b, and c) should be vehemently opposed to this kind of thing, and instead you have a large swath of people who more or less celebrate it. It makes the favorite look even worse in the event of a loss (You couldn't pull it off even with the handicap?), forever opens the door for well-deserved doubt and skepticism in victory, and generally defeats the purpose of personal challenges for purposes of "greatness" and "legacy" entirely. It's a lose-lose, plain and simple.
