Apparently you don't remember Canelo winning the middleweight title at a 155 pound catchweight?

Cotto forced Sergio Martinez to come down to 159 or no fight. Sugar Ray Leonard forced Lalonde a light heavyweight to go down all the way to 168 or he wouldn't fight him. All these guys justified it by saying I have already moved up mulitple weight classes in my career your weight is not my natural weight.

Canelo has already moved up what 5 weight classes through out his career won titles in 3 different weights. Jumped up to 160 and whooped the so called boogyman at his own weight. He is a natural middleweight weight you want him to jump up 2 full weight classes, give up 15lbs and you think Kovalev shouldn't have to sacrifice a thing to get the fight?
All those moves you mention were bull****, as would this one be with Kovalev.

Andrade, GGG and Saunders are all closer to his natural weight and would be great fights. They'd also mean far more than beating Kovalev on the scales.

As long as you killed Floyd, Pacquiao, Cotto, GGG when they did the same demands the problem is most here didn't and only hating now because its canelo. My point is this isn't uncommon and has been going on in boxing forever.

And how else do you make fights when guys don't fight in the same weight classes? He already beat GGG as for Andrade and Saunders you are nuts if you think beating the 4th and 5th best middleweight is better then moving up and beating a bigger better fighter in your 4th weight class in 3 years. Especially after you already beat the lineal middleweight champ, then the universally number 1 and 2 best Middleweights of the world. Kovalev is a far more dangerous opponent even if he has to sacrifice weight. He is also a bigger name and better draw for fans then both those names. If you aren't fighting GGG he is the next biggest name to be thrown in the mix to fight Canelo.

OK then I should correct my statement according to the rules catchweights aren't allowed in title fights due to the fact they're not fighting at the weight the title is for. I know that corruption has allowed as much but catchweights aren't supposed to be for titles.

Sorry let me make it clear I know catchweight title fights can happen but it was the case that title fights couldn't be at catchweight before money shut up the sanctioning bodies' issues with it very quickly of course.

As long as you fight under the limit the title is on the line. All the fights that folks mentioned that were catchweights below the belt limit the title was still on the line. You are agreeing to a separate contract with the fighters and as long as neither go over the belt limit they are sanctioned. Fighters decide to come in 1 or many pounds under the weight the title is at all the time even when they aren't agreeing to a catchweight. Catchweights are just private contracts you make with the other fighter where you both agree to do that.

Cotto was A side. Cotto made it very apparent that 155 was best and made sense. Would it have been fair to Cotto if Canelo wanted it at 160? Canelo was already fighting at 155. Had Canelo screamed for 160 fans could make a case.

What other weight would Cotto have liked? Lol

... few days ago on Instagram, Kovalev said he is no **********...
... "If “Redhead” is really serious, he intends to rise in my weight and fight with me, which will definitely go down in the history of world boxing, but I don’t intend to rival him, so as not to look like a ********** to earn more what can I do without him!"
