Selective amnesia, I see. Maybe this will jog your memory.Originally posted by icha;19864717too bad prime ggg never tested him self vs someone who was even remotely close to canelos skills....
but eith another fantasy match up won for ggg...

Canelo chose to disgrace himself rather than fight a GGG who was already past his peak even then.Comment

both got close W's.
we both know GGG has always been a middleweight and
Canelo is a comfortable middleweight. Don't try to play a Pacquiao card here like he's been climbing from flyweightComment

Canelo is smaller than Golovkin.
How did Golovkin do against other A-level fighters?Comment

A 37 year old boxer fights on even terms wih a 28 year old boxer and the 28 year old boxer is undeniably better????? That makes perfect sense to an arrogant GGG hating jackass but not to anyone with any intelligence, logic and common sense. Age Canelo 9 years and make him 37 and put him in the ring with today's GGG and GGG would slaughter him. Canelo will be completely done as a top boxer and retired years before he is 37. You are completely bias and trash any boxers you don't like no matter how good they are while overrating boxers you do like. For what ever reason you hate Wilder, GGG and Pacquiao and trash them at every opportunity while overrating your favorites like Mayweather, Canelo and AJ. You have been trashing Wilder and saying how much better AJ is. Right now you would have a hard time finding anyone who doesn't think Wilder would beat AJ besides your self.Comment

canelos team decided he wasnt ready to fight at a weight he never fought before and under mandatory($$$) circunstances...
call it how you want but neither side was willing to budge and the fight didnt happen, besides they are almost a decade apart so prime for prime will always be a fantasy match between those two... ggg can add all the fantasy matches to his list while canelo keeps adding names to his real resume...
by the way, did ggg disgraced him self when he lost the belt for avoiding dervyachenko ?Comment

Have you heard of styles make fights? GGG vs Canelo is a good stylistic match up. That being said, Canelo overall can do more and has a larger range of skills than GGG. GGG has one thing he can do that's it...he can't adjust and falls short of looking great anytime he fights anyone with a pulse. Canelo has fought many top contenders with multiple styles and came out on top where GGG has fought 2 people worth anything, and is 1-1-1.Comment

I brought up Canelo's achievements because what he's doing is 10x more difficult and that's why he gets the credit he does and not ggg.
Canelo has conceded all physical advantages, ggg has not. There is a reason why ggg refuses to even budge 8lbs from 160.
ggg SHOULD be able to push Canelo to his limit, he SHOULD be able to beat him but he didn't, he SHOULD be able to KO him etc.
Do you think ggg could do the equivalent of what Canelo did moving up multiple weight classes?
Put it this way, it'd be like ggg moving up to LHW and taking on the champions in his first fights at the weight, would you not expect the 175lb champions to dominate ggg or have major advantages?Last edited by Cutthroat; 06-28-2019, 11:02 AM.Comment

Canelo moved up multiple weight divisions, that's the difference. He took on ggg in his 1st MW bout. If ggg wants the same credit he has to do the same and bare min. that's moving up to 175 & fighting champions.
Put it this way John Ruiz is FAR from an all time great but RJJ gets major credit for defeating him even though so many others have.Comment

GGG and Canelo weigh the exact same 170 pounds on fight night. They are the exact same weight give or take a pound. They tell you these weights if you are paying attention instead of ******ly and wrongly assuming GGG is a heavier boxer now.GGG was bigger years ago but certainly not bigger today. Canelo has grown and may have to move to 168. As for how GGG did against A- fighters most viewers think he won all his fights even though he is many years past his prime. Let's see how Canelo holds up when he is 33, 34 or 35 years old. He will be completely done and retired long before he is 37.Comment
