  • Comments Thread For: Parker Wants Rematch With Whyte If Whyte Can't Get Title Fight

Joseph Parker respects what Dillian Whyte wants. The former WBO heavyweight champion completely understands Whyte's preference for a title fight after everything Whyte has endured while awaiting a shot at WBC champion Deontay Wilder. But if England's Whyte overcomes Colombian contender Oscar Rivas on July 13 and still can't land a title shot, Parker would welcome a rematch with Whyte.

I just think if Whyte has to fight Parker instead of Wilder - it's a sad day for a sport - where the champion never fights the no.1 contender. He couldn't have done any more to get a title shot. What did Brezeale do to deserve one?

Yep, not Whyte's fault though, its Wilders team and the corrupt WBC keep avoiding Whyte. Most would rather see Wilder vs Whyte than Wilder vs Ortiz 2. Whyte has more than earned his shot, if he beats Rivas there is no reason he shouldn't be getting that shot next...but he wont cause Wilder gonna fight Ortiz and Fury again.

Whyte will not rematch willingly and I don't really blame him. Without the fortuitous headbutt he loses their first go round. I do not see any reason to think Whyte would win a rematch and I doubt he does either.

Whyte still remembers that last round with Parker.

Whyte ain't getting anything until he agrees to fight eliminators. I would rather see Wilder vs Parker than Whyte vs Wilder but that looks difficult given Parker signed with Hearn and DAZN.

While Whyte can be criticized, I think his resume holds up a ton better than most HWs right now. If no title match (which he is not getting until late next if we look at the tea leaves honestly) a rematch with a game fighter like Parker will earn some real nice coin and may be better than most any other option out there for him.

I'm sure Whyte will lose against Rivas, who's a better overall boxer.
