Why don't the WBC just make literally everybody in the top 100 a champion of one kind or another and then they just claim some fee's off everybody.

So if Kovalev beats Canelo at 175 he becomes the WBC diamond belt champ with consideration to become mandatory for Gvozdyk.

      This **** is crazy
Crazy is right word! I got a headache just reading that lol.

I don't think they care as long as they get subscriptions.

I can't understand why Canelo would be ok with this. It makes him look like he used his influence with the WBC to avoid the fight because he is scared to fight Charlo.

Charlo should be pissed because he now has a GGG type title reign where he gets the belt in the boardroom and not the ring.

Just a terrible move by the WBC that makes the sport look weak.

Are people under the impression the WBC have done this to protect Canelo from Charlo?

Yes, that seems to be the consensus. That by elevating Charlo and creating this "Franchise belt" you appease Charlo and allow Canelo to avoid the fight.

Canelo was never going to fight Charlo and Canelo has already shown he can ditch belts to avoid mandatories and his fans don't care.

This move by the WBC seems more about protecting the WBC's image than protecting Canelo's.

If Canelo ditched the WBC belt again, that hurts the WBC more than it hurts Canelo.

So they've invented a new honor that allows Canelo to do whatever he wants without it seeming like Canelo ditched their belt again.

It does not care about titles or belts

                  Canelo won 7 fu.cking titles .

                  IBF. WBO.WBA.WBC.

                  He did enought ...

And he will fight Andrade next..

Idk what it is about mandatories but Canelo sure doesn't like to deal with them for some reason.

Your uncertainty over the WBA 'super' is well warranted. Sometimes you become super champ if you beat the current super champ (despite their rules stating that the super champ is only for champions with 5 defenses) other times you don't. Sometimes you become 'super' champ after 5 defenses. Sometimes you don't. Sometimes you become super champ if you unify... guess what? Sometimes you don't... they have a special 'unified' title if they don't feel like making you 'Super' champ that week.

These dudes really are a special kind of special... I genuinely thought the WBA couldn't be outdone in the ****** title stakes, but somehow the WBC have managed it.
