Have to hand it to the IBF.

With the WBO creating a Global title, the WBA creating a Gold Champion, and now the WBC creating this, the IBF do it right.

1 Champion per division. No interim titles. Well done.

I've been said, the IBF/NABF and IBO are the only org doing anything by the old school rules. WBC gets hype because everyone goes for them for some damn reason.

Basically this is a nice way of stripping Canelo of the wbc belt and giving it to Charlo since Canelo won't fight him.

And at the same time appeasing Canelo's ego by giving him a title that places no restrictions or mandatories on him.

I'm sure they're (wbc) working on inventing some new "rules" to try to continue screwing over Dillian Whyte to keep him from getting his shot against Deyontay Wilder.

Do you actually watch boxing? I do, every weekend, and did so for over 20 years.

I know who the champ at each division is. All divisions, without ever referring to boxing organizations' BS belts. I either know each champ in each division or I have it as a no clear champ in that division.

This is all very interesting.

It doesn't look like anybody is actually happy with the WBC decision.

The best we can get is an answer like the quote above. Basically, 'people know who the champion is'. So what ranking bodies do is irrelevant.

Ranking bodies are supposed to have two functions. Tell us who the champion is, and make the champion fight the best available opposition.

Apart from the IBF, none of the other ranking bodies seem to be doing that.

At this point I just hope one of the players creates his own league and makes the best fight the best at least within it, a la UFC.
