He got his **** pushed in against little Joe Frazier, and unraveled against Norton. He looked inexperienced against Young.

He hasn't used to pressing the fight. He never fought someone as big as Fury. He never fought someone as skilled and elusive.

take it from a guy who did not half bad wrestling. When you find yourself against a bigger, more technically proficient opponent, the first thing tested is your conditioning. You'll find yourself fading.

I didnt say size doesn't matter I said Ali has amazing stamina. Of course size matters. Weight, height and reach are very important. However you have to be able to apply them if you can and not get tired yourself. I've never wrestled formally but we used to have I promptu wrestling matches. I'm not a big guy but I could wear out bigger guys simply by being elusive. They would get tired if I attacked them from angles and make circle. If we ended up on the ground I would look to manuver on their back and tie up their arm or arms if they were available. If they looked like they would break out I just let them get on their feet and start cirrcling again. A small guy can wear down a bigger guy if he uses his speed and doesn't get caught. That's wrestling this is boxing. Anyway Ali is quicker than Fury and has excellent endurance.

I'll agree that a good big man beats a good little man most of the time.

But Ali wasn't that small and Fury isn't that good.

Go and watch an Ali fight. Just pick one. Say, the second Frazier fight. Then come back and tell me you still think that Fury moves as well as Ali did. That he throws smarter shots. That he's got faster hand speed.

And Ali could do that for 15 rounds! Fury's punch output would have him outlanded 5 to 1. Ali would toy with him.

If all that was needed was a 6ft9 bloke, then someone would have found one.

So being elusive wears opponents out, but the elusive (Fury) fighter will be the one tiring out in this match?

Even when Ali tried to use his speed and be elusive, he wasn't that great at it. He narrowly escaped a faded Liston. Frazier pummeled him. He had to resort to "rope-a-dope" against Foreman. He was owned by Norton. Are we talking about the same muhammad ali? This isn't Wilfredo Benitez.

Ali may have a speed advantage, but he's not going to benefit from it against a bigger man with better footwork and upper-body movement.

It's like comparing a College Football team with an undefeated record to a Pro-Football team. It odn't matter how good they look against hacks, they'll get embarassed and abused against the real thing.

But look, if you think Ali has better technique, or the kind of offense that can overcome Fury's size a defense, you're clearly a few too many drinks into the night.

Fury's size makes him a bit uncoordinated, and he is painfully lacking on offense. But for a man his size to move so well, and possess such pure-boxing proficiency is really amazing.

Ali looks like rubbish compared to better fighters at the lower weights. Unlike Fury, whose skill and talent could make a champion in the lower weight classes, fighting like Ali will get you CREAMED. Stamina and speed only account for so much. Just ask Hector Camacho.
