I would have to say Larry Holmes is the greatest among the three. He is one of the most underappreciated Heavyweight champions in history.

Larry was an overall better fighter than both Vitali and Lennox. Not only was he the more technical, fundamentally sound and scientific of the three but he had the much bigger balls as well.

What he lacked physically, he overcompensated it, with both his fortitude and will power. Once he was knocked down, he used to get back up and knock his opponents out.

Whenever Lennox Lewis was knocked down. He stayed down. Also, as far as Vitali Klitschko is concerned; He retired on his stool by none other than a pillow fisted and a blown up Super middleweight in Chris Byrd.

Holmes struggled against Shavers and Spinks. He lost to Witherspoon and Williams. His greatest win was against Gerry Cooney.

A great fighter, but clearly out-matched against the Super Heavyweights.

Vitali's decision to quit was odd. But it was a one-off. His heart can't be questioned.

Oh well, thank you! It took many years to perfect this product. These looks, charm, wit and style do come natural, but need a bit of teasing.

Now that you've flattered me, and I supposed to buy you a drink?

probably Holmes. But Lennox comes razor close.

I am not sure why the part time titlists are there.

Cooney wasnt his best win, but a top five one perhaps for him.

which superheavies outmatched him? You've not mentioned any.

You need evidence to back up your point. The only evidence is that a LHW moving up was his greatest test, not the biggest guys he fought. In fact the evidence shows the opposite of what you claim.

Vitali's decision to quit was odd. But it was a one-off. His heart can't be questioned.
he was the Klitschko with heart, although he grew much more playsafe with opponents choice after lewis, less heart after that, whilst Wlads heart grew.

Larry Holmes had the best jab of any heavyweight in history and that includes names like: Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali. If you go back and watch some of his old footage he had snapping jab. Ali had a quicker jab but Larry had a better jab.

True but Lewis had a good jab too sure it was nothing on Larry's technique wise but it was still good and longer and hes taller so that already nullifies his best asset.

Larry has to use foot work head movement and so on and THEN jab, its much easier to stay on the outside jab away and let them come to you and intercept them on the way in.

Just the reach alone already closes the gap on his best asset and then he has to contend with alot more on top of that.

These are not just any big men they are really top notch big men so the size makes alot of difference, much more than usual because its ontop of a load of other assets

So sure he can beat a very powerful guy like foreman or a very skilled guy and so on but the bigger modern guys just have too many of these "attributes" in one human, even Ali I believe could not compete. Although admittedly he is a freak and I could be wrong but you get the point the further back it goes the more doubt there is over whether they could compete with the very elite* in the modern era.

Vitali isnt going anywhere either no ones gonna KO him with that chin, so with his excellent work rate and conditioning (and the ability to get stuck in due to less fear of being KOed himself) hes gonna make a great fight with any of them and has a high chance of a points win.
