You're right because I just checked the BARB numbers for Sky Box Office for Josh vs Ruiz weekend and it's 403,000. Ref: https://www.barb.co.uk/viewing-data/...ewing-summary/

I compared the numbers to the other Josh fights and they correspond with PPV numbers out in public.

However, when it comes to BT Sports box office, they don't release the official numbers. I don't know why tho. I'm still trying to find the Fury vs Wilder fight numbers and it hasn't been released yet.

Seems decent enough numbers for the time frame.

With it being the night of the champions league final I know a lot of the people from my neck of the woods who normally tune in didn't bother. I didn't catch it myself until a while later due to celebrating the footy win.

If he continues to fight in America I think his numbers will take a hit over here unless it's a really big fight. 400'000 seems alright though.

The only UK number for Fury/Wilder that I ever saw or heard about was 450k, from Fury himself.

That seems about right to me, comparing it to the BARB number for AJ/Ruiz.

Joshua has done numbers in the UK no one else has. No doubt he is unrivaled. But that's the reasoning I was using to think he was still going to do HIGH numbers. But the opponent not being seen as a threat didn't help matters no doubt.

If he was fighting Ruiz in the UK, I'd still say it hits the million mark or gets close to it.
You STILL need a B side so I don't think 800k was a realistic number. You were basically saying you thought Joshua vs a late sub was gonna be the 3rd biggest 3am UK PPV of all time. Joshua IS a huge UK draw, but you can't make a sh^t sandwich look like filet mignon.

And all these guys Joshua fought in the UK on UK PPV were largely Matchroom associated acts fans were aware of. This US fight on UK PPV was a unfavorable time along with being vs a guy none of these fans have seen fight before nor considered relavent unlike Parker, Povetkin & Klitschko.

I mean just look at the Takam fight numbers which were almost half of the Klitschko & Parker fight. And Takam was a non-relevant HW just like Ruiz was. Takam just had the benefit of fighting Joshua in the UK & therefore had a more reasonable PPV time.

I suspect if this rematch is in the UK it'll break UK PPV records. Which I believe is 1.5M for Joshua vs Klitschko. Worse case it'll be top 3, 1.2M+.

Randomly I'll be surprised if Fury vs Schwarz did 200k & that might even be too optimistic of a number to mention. I'd guess its 125k-ish give or take a couple ten thousands.

Of course, and I even stated I should have taken the Takam fight into consideration before making my prediction.

Forget the fight breaking records in the UK, that is pretty much a given. But if it even takes place in NY again, it will do 800-900k buys this time around. Now EVERYONE knows who Ruiz is and everyone will be interested in seeing Joshua bounce back from that stoppage loss.

Fury/Schwarz likely didn't even hit the 100k mark, not a chance.

If Crawford/Khan barely did in the 150k range stateside, how many buys do you think it did in the UK? 40k max?

Yep. I'm talking about in todays market. Times have changed since the Hatton Floyd fight. Illegal streams mainly. But in todays numbers considering the time and the opponent yes I do think they are great numbers. Also that was Floyd in there with Hatton. Ruiz hasn't been bringing the numbers Floyd does, there is very little to compare those 2 fights unless you want to twist it and try make it look negative.

How many American fighters are doing better ppvs in America at prime time than Joshua is in the UK when fighting at 4am in a other country? Not many at all. No dig at America there I'm just pointing out that is the market.

Lmao at 450k. The BT box office/ESPN numbers for the weekend of Fury vs Wilder fight was 727,000 (https://www.barb.co.uk/viewing-data/...ewing-summary/) and 2 weeks after that when there was no fight, the numbers were 611,000 (https://www.barb.co.uk/viewing-data/...ewing-summary/).

Fury is a notorious liar and I doubt he did anything close to 450k.
