Do you see Ruiz lasting long as champ or will he become another Buster Douglas?

Speaking of Rocky III, wouldn't it be something if Wlad flew out to England and agreed to train AJ for the rematch? Weird Rocky story lines in all of this.
I agree with you about the mindset but you can do what I said and still have that mindset. I am not saying AJ should think he can't beat Ruiz. I am saying he needs to be honest about why he lost.

Wad did this and look how his career changed. Yeah, Americans always felt he wasn't that good and was too scared to come here again but he did reign for 14 years. If it worked for wlad it can work for AJ.

That would be surreal to see Wlad be his trainer. That might be the best thing for him.

I didn't say not to rematch did I? I said follow the wlad blueprint and rematch him down the road after you get a new trainer and get better.

I understand you are probably still a little upset and in shock. But honestly you have seen this happen before when a British HWT champ, supposedly the next great thing, gets KTFO by some barely known American. You should be handling this better.

No i'm not upset or in shock. This is boxing, you win or lose that's how it goes. If a fighter isn't good enough he isn't good enough, no point dragging it out fighting bums.

To be fair to Wlad he did fight Jennings and Lyakovich in MSG, the problem was that most of the top guys during his reign were foreign and he easily sold out arenas in Germany the way AJ did in UK. Wlad always went where the money was.

With that said, AJ absolutely needs to follow in Wlads footsteps. If AJ learned how to use his jab and control the distance as well as tie up the opponent properly when he got tagged, then he could have a longer and healthier run in the division. Those 3 things could save his career, jab, ring generalship, and clinch.

Andy isn't a special HW, when did I claim that?

Now Fury is a special HW and would box Ruiz's face off.

He fights as a standard orthodox boxer with nothing exceptional about him but his combinations and punching power. Take away his power and any danger he possess is gone.

If he learned how to sharpen his jab and control the distance he could be a very dangerous fighter akin to Lennox Lewis due to his strength and variety of punches.
                  Another stu.pid jerk

Wlad made a career out of beating guys like Ruiz. I know you're excited because you're Mexican yourself, so this win has completely blinded you, but Ruiz is not going to last. It's not hate, In fact I would've loved to believe that Ruiz was a world beater, because it would've added another piece to the heavyweight division, but he simply is not. That is why all the threads are about AJ losing and not Ruiz winning, because no one believes him to be special, and he is not. Aside from some quick hands and a heart he doesn't possess anything that makes anyone go, WOW there is the future of the division.
