Do you see Ruiz lasting long as champ or will he become another Buster Douglas?

I think A true champion asks himself the tough questions and seeks to get better so he is ready to beat all challengers.I see what your saying, but its just not the mentality of a true champion to walk away, rebuild and work your way back up. A true champion has a powerful ego that yearns for immediate redemption. If AJ really did avoid the immediate rematch (he won't), he would lose all credibility among his fans. It would prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is psychologically frail.
If this was a close fight like a Castillo/Floyd then ok, I would agree. This was more like Dogboe/Navarette where the guy we all expected to lose didn't just win, but showed they had weapons in their arsenal that the champion couldn't handle.Comment

He's a fat slob, he was already knackered in the 7th and AJ didn't throw that many punches.
Ruiz would gas and get stopped.
I've heard all this before, I got laughed at 10 years ago when I said Fury was a future unified champ, and look what happened.
Unfortunately it's irrelevant because Ruiz will lose to Fury or Wilder first.Comment

he may not last long but I think he has AJs number and will win a rematch. aj just doesn't have it, no head movement and feet planted right in front of opponent. hes done and was never all of what he was hyped to be. he can come back n get some wins but he wont beat any of the top in the divisionComment

He was down 5-1, at best 4-2. How much worse could it be for an 11-1 favorite?
AJ sure didn't show an ability to jab or to work off the jab in this fight. He doesn't have the tools to protect his chin and with each fight he has its got to be obvious to even the most nationalistic British fan that his career isn't sustainable this way.Comment
