Be honest with yourselves. Do you actually see Ruiz becoming a long reigning champ or do you see him crashing down and losing eventually like Buster Douglas? I think this was more of Ruiz having a bad style for AJ and AJ not being as mentally tough as many thought he was, which is why I see Ruiz winning the rematch if they do fight again.
The only question is whether the huge upset and fame will get to Ruiz's head. Douglas became so undisciplined after beating Tyson that he did not care about training at all which resulted in him losing his next fight, so I'm wondering if the same could happen to Ruiz.

Nah, Ruiz is a good HW but he's a level below elite status. Wilder and Fury both handle him with ease, and i even think someone like Joyce would be a problem for him.

      Depends on who he fights?

He can beat most guys in the top 10 because he is just a talented fighter but the top 2/3 can beat him. If he fights Fury for example his reign will be short

I don't think he'll have a long reign, but its hard to envision him doing worse than Buster. Think Buster's reign lasted less than 9 minutes into his first defense.

That said if Ruiz got $24M for his first defense like Buster did maybe Ruiz's reign only lasts 9 minutes into his first defense to so fair play to Buster lol.

I think most likely he loses a rematch. I do think Joshua looked at this guy and didn’t think he had anything for him and got caught slipping.
Doesn’t matter though. He’s already made history. He’ll keep getting good paydays off of this.

If he's smart he delays that rematch and gets a few "tune ups" but no matter how it plays out he's set for life financially now. Literally, that stoppage just set him up for the rest of his life.

The unfortunate thing for him is that their will be no more surprise factor.

I think Wilder and others have AJ to thank for that. I think Andy Ruiz will not last long due to this fact, but would love to see him continue as champ.

Styles also makes fights.. depends who he fights. They should get him to fight Joe Joyce, that would be like Pac Man vs DLH style ...top for TV.

I think at this stage Tyson Fury is still the king of the division until somebody beats him.

Either way, great Heavyweight times ahead providing PBC doesn't ringfence it for themselves, think about the talent coming through, Dubois, Hrgovic, Hunter, Whyte, Parker, Joyce, etc.

styles make fights, he's going to have a lot of trouble with somebody who knows how to use his height and fight tall. it's just a reality that a heavyweight who gives up 6 inches to a lot of his contenders will have a short career and need to take punishment even when he wins.

ruiz would be one of hte 20 something guys wladimir jabbed, grabbed, and knocked out. again, styles make fights, and ruiz would get clinched and jabbed in the face until he tired out.

he will always give joshua problems because joshua really doesn't have a consistent jab. fury would probably win every round. wilder may very well get put to sleep, but i didn't think ruiz looked all that hard to hit with fast hands. wilder's got em, joshua just wasn't willing to throw. again, styles make fights.

I don't see him lasting that long if he fights an elite boxer. Heck, there is a chance he will lose to AJ in the rematch. Remember, he wasn't supposed to win in the first place if it were not for AJ's less than usual show.
