If that was the case, then wouldn't they just have easily shopped Deontay Wilder to another platform like DAZN who would pay his $20mil guarantee instead of paying him $8 mil out of their own pocket? Let's use some common sense here. Ask yourself this question?
Who stood to lose the most had Wilder signed with DAZN; Showtime or Al Haymon? If you answer this question correctly then you will find where Deontay Wilder's $10 mil guarantee came from.
Remember that Deontay Wilder is already signed to Al Haymon but he is not signed to Showtime or any other television network or online video streaming platform.Comment

Dawg, I couldn't have agreed with you more. This is just a smokescreen and an obvious attempt by a few Wilder, Haymon and PBC evil haters to discredit them by disseminating a false propaganda campaign against their success. You are right. The Wilder KO is what true boxing fans should all be talking about right now instead of vitriolic boxing politics.Comment

Wilder vs Breazeale a non PPV fight 791k
Wilder vs Fury gave away tickets rumored (but never confirmed) 325k PPV's
Wilder vs Ortiz 1.1 million viewers no PPV
The population of the UK is 66 million yet AJ regularly has over 1 million PPV fights. The population of the US is over 300 million, yet Wilder can't get a million people to watch his fights on basic cable hahahaha. And you idiots think that Wilder deserves 50-50?????? Let alone 4 belts to 1 or 13k in the arena compared to 90k at the soccer stadiums. And Wilder beat Breazeale, one of AJ's leftovers, not another champion or a hall of fame boxer. Wilder is a bum beating fraud who has held the belt hostage for years now and he lost to an unfit Fury. For you short bus ******s who keep following him and pumping him up, you are all in for a rude awakening when he finally steps up and fights AJ, or Whyte and anyone with a pulse. And last point. AJ vs Ruiz tickets are going to almost triple what Wilder tickets went for and it will be a sellout or at least a near sellout next week. And that's in Wilder own country. So you idiots an keep on counting "viral videos" or some ESPN popularity contest, but there is a clear #1 when it comes to heavyweight and it ain't Wilder. Not by a long shot.Comment

AJ vs Povetkin: 1,113,000 buys at £19.99 ($25.37) = $28,236,810
Wilder vs Fury: 325,000 buys at $74.99 = $24,371,750 (US)
and 450,000 buys at $25.37 = $11,416,500 (UK)
Total = $35,788,250
Wilder outgrossed Joshua in their last fights by $7,551,440
And the real numbers for Saturday are a bit better than reported in this thread. The OP should actually read the news reported from this sight. Viewership peaked at 990K and undoubtedly would have gone higher had the fight not ended so soon. It also has to be taken into account that the fight was on directly opposite of the NBA playoffs. That's a damn good number when you consider the high ratings that Golden State usually gets and reportedly the game easily topped the ratings Saturday. Lastly, the KO itself went viral on twitter, amassing 6 million views within hours of the KO.
So yeah, the days of 60/40 or someone being the "A-side" may be gone.
We will see how things go June 1st.Comment

I have seen championforever, that g, 5000boxings and others, they are big wilder fans and they are keeping it real. the rating is quite low for the WBC champ on free TV.
Encouraging showtime, all boxing networks, streaming services and fans to help in lifting boxing.
I love them for their sincere comments and suggestion. You mustn't be a fan boy on every thread raised. Keep it real for once.
Am sorry, this sports cannot grow beyond this if we more fans like you.
It's pathetic.Comment

"ratings make networks money"
so did lil g/Lemieux make hbo money
how did top rank do with the Crawford/postol ppv?
how about Crawford/khan? did espn make money?
LOL...you have no concept of anything
maybe showtime did take an L on this fight...so what? they wouldn't be the first and certainly not the last....whats important is that they still have wilder and if they end up with a piece of the AJ fight they will make money...and a fury fight too
companies take L's short term to make it long terms....but you have no concept of how anything works because you are a POS loser
wilder was trending all day sunday and people were watching and sharing the highlight reel ko all day...that's is good for wilder and anyone affiliated with him...but I wouldn't expect you to understand....you are a scrubComment
