So yes, the 3.5M in live gate was legit as was 4.7M for Spence/Garcia as was 228k for Hurd/Williams and 559k for Lomachenko/Crolla.
No Its not legit. They bought a lot of their own tickets and gave them away.

It’s like if your a concert promoter. 5000 tickets of mgm are sold. Week of the fight u buy 10k tickets and give them away to paper the house

Now you have a gate of 15k tix sold. Is that legitimate to you ?

LOL, I'm giving you the live gate number. You take it for what it is. You are paying 5% sales tax on the live gate figure. Every card for the PBC should be a sellout doing it this way. The live gate for Hurd/Williams should have been far more than 228k then. Why didn't they just purchase more tickets to make the number look better?

Are there going to comp or "exempt" tickets? Of course, but that is the live gate feature. $3,515,122.50 to be exact.

The reason why it wasn't on Pay Per View is because someone other Deontay Wilder would have had to gotten off their asses and promote the damn fight.

It's a damn shame that Wilder has no one to promote his own fights. Where the Hell is his promoter? He can't be in more than one place at a time. This is the kind of shit that makes me furious.

He's called upon to do double duty. While he's in camp training for a fight he is asked to do interview after Goddamned interview in order to help sell the fight. Which isn't right or fair.

If he has to do all of that then why in the Hell is he paying a promoter for anyway? It pains me to see Deontay Wilder being misused and abused by his own team.

            Make the fight you clowns.
I'm a Joshua fan and in a way I hope so.

Promoters need to be shown by fans that they won't tolerate pointless fights in order to 'marinate' big ones for exorbitant amounts of time.

they had a number they wanted to hit and 3.5 sounds like the number.

A smaller low profile fight like Hurd Williams obviously wasn’t important. They didn’t py them even 3.5 mil in total purses lol.

Haymon and showtime both took almost 10 mil out of their pockets to subsidize wilders purse to keep him from DAZN.

They need to get that money back. To buy a another 1.5 to 2 mil in tickets to help their negotiating position with Joshua and fury is a smart investment.

They will do the same thing with pac-thurman. They fight should legitimately sell around 10k seats at mgms prices. They will buy a few thousand more to get to the gate level they are targeting.

That's all unnecessary and really doesn't do them any good.

They got the leverage they need. DAZN wants the fight more than ANY other fight and really you can now say Wilder/Joshua is the biggest fight in boxing. THAT is their leverage more than whatever the hell Wilder/Fury did at the gate. Them doing 3.5M means exactly what when Joshua is doing 10M+ at Wembley? This mega showdown goes further than just Wilder's individual value, but instead how big the actual fight is and how much money it can generate if it is on PPV. If it is on DAZN, then the value is that it is the fight they want the most and believe the fight that will generate the most subscribers. We already know what DAZN is willing to pay Wilder, and that offer will likely only increase.
