Got a good little laugh outta Breazeale saying he could hear the ref saying seven and eight. So I’m assuming he was sleep from the time the punch landed and the count of six. Either way, he didn’t beat the ten count. And when he made it to his feet, he proceeded to stumble into the ropes.

The ref could've called the fight when he went down to be honest. You could hear Paulie saying it's over as soon as he hit the canvas.
There are some KOs you can call as soon as you see it. Martinez knocking out Williams, Pacquiao knocking out Hatton, and Marquez knocking out Pacquiao. This one wasn't quite that dramatic but if you look at the way Breazeale's leg sprawl as he went down you knew he wouldn't get up in time.
The ref did the right thing. Breazeale gets credit for even trying to get up but he was in no condition to continue.Last edited by HarvardBlue; 05-19-2019, 06:34 AM.

I think Brazil knew he could continue. But he also knew he couldn't guarantee he could avoid another right hand.
So whether he wanted to continue is another topic

The count seemed a little quick but not complaing f the stoppage, as Wilder would have stopped him soon anyway. Brezeale is too ponderous. A very impressive win, although it does not mean he would beat Joshua or Fury in a rematch.

Stopped it early ? He didn’t beat the count and even if he would have , his legs were not under him and he would have been knocked unconscious. Anyone who thinks different is just a wilder hater.
