Yeah Oscar, Spence should move up to fight Canelo Alvarez just as you should have moved up to fight Roy Jones, Jr but refused because your excuse was that he was too heavy. If Canelo really wants to fight Spence, then let him do it a catch weight of a 154lbs.

By the time Spence reaches 160 Canelo may be retired because his body is slowly breaking down due to all the years of juicing. If he doesn't start cycling soon his knee is only going to get progressively worse. There's only so much muscle mass a body can carry before it begins to shut down.

... 154 isn't even a "catch weight"... it's a "weight division", right?... 157 would be a catch weight -- but I don't believe Canelo would agree to boil down there...

No, he wouldn't. He learned from Floyd who learned from Oscar that once you are the A-side, you can make all kinds of demands to your favor. Going forward, Canelo won't disadvantage himself in the slightest.

For those talking about catchweights, if they fought at 154 technically it would be a catchweight, which is an agreed upon weight in between the weights they are currently fighting at.

I LOVE this fight! Spence is a huge drainer, and 160 is actually the optimum weight for him, imo. He definitely has the skills to give Canelo all he wants, and then some. Winning a decision against Canelo though is nearly impossible unless your name is Floyd.

Would have to be a big offer. Once Spence leaves 147 he won't be able to come back down. So ODLH would have to offer Crawford fight plus 1 or two more fights worth of money to make it even worth while.

I swear these fighters and promoters have burner accounts on this site. DLH is literally saying word for word what I’ve been saying for months. And since Canelo doesn’t appear to wanna see GGG again right now. And Spence isn’t gonna get a Crawford fight anytime soon. The logical thing to do is match me up and create superfight that would be a mega event. Hope it happens.

As for the fight itself, I give Spence a good shot. I would probably pick Canelo via late stoppage or close, maybe even controversial decision if it made it to the cards. Because I would expect Spence to win the early rounds. I think Spence can and will outbox Canelo. He has a height and reach advantage. The biggest issues I see for Spence is that I don’t think he hits hard enough to keep Canelo off him. So I think Canelo walks him down and wins the second half of the fight.

The size isn’t as big an issue as people would make it out to be. Canelo is a small MW and Spence is a big WW that could easily campaign at JMW. So there’s only probably one weight class separating them in terms of what each’s natural weight is. And Spence has a height and reach advantage that would aid him in trying to keep the fight at a comfortable distance for him.

Damn I hope this thing happens. They would put 100K in Jerryworld. I would go and watch it from the nosebleeds. Spence-Mikey taught me that everyone outside of the first couple ringside rows are probably gonna spend the night watching the fight on the big screen anyway. No need to shell out big bucks just to do that.
