Truth of Myth: 'Wilder is avoiding Joshua' ?
Collapse

Biggest issue is this.
Only the first two years of Hearn's DAZN deal are guaranteed.
Hearn struck that deal before John Skipper took over and before DAZN signed Golden Boy.
Why does DAZN need to pay a UK promoter a ton of money to build their US business when they already have the biggest star in US boxing?
Skipper would have NEVER signed that Matchroom deal and Hearn knows it. Hearn's best chance of proving his worth to DAZN is delivering Joshua vs. Wilder. If he can't deliver that, he's in serious jeopardy of DAZN opting out of the final six years of the deal.
That is why the fight hasn't happened. Hearn will only allow the fight to happen on DAZN, but Wilder knows the fight would make way more on PPV. Why should Wilder take less so Hearn can rescue his DAZN deal? Why not wait it out and let Hearn lose the DAZN deal, forcing Hearn to make the fight on PPV like Wilder wants.
You worry too much about Eddie and DAZN.
Go get a bottle of beer, you are more scared of wilder getting KOed than wilder himself.Comment

The boxing world and half of the UK knows it’s a myth that Wilder has ducked Joshua. Only the Joshua fanatics think that he ducked Joshua. Real recognizes real!!!Comment

What makes him think wilder will still be a champ in 6yrs time?Comment

while you may know, or at least believe you know how the industry works, you are not in the best company on this issue. even those who do have an understanding of "how the industry works" aren't likely to be privy to all the details, so for the most part, people have to take what they see at face value...everything else is speculation. for me it's not really about whether or not wilder is "ducking", it's about those who called joshua a duck looking ****** for being inconsistent. I don't recall you ever calling aj a ducking coward etc. tho, you just seem like more of a pbc propagandist.Comment

I don't like to use the term "duck" for anything other than an ordered fight. If there's a purse bid, you can't blame promotional or network politics. Sell the fight to the highest bidder and let the chips fall as they may.
However, in the instance of Joshua, he did demand 50 million, they did give him his 50 million, and he changed his mind and refused to accept. Is that a duck? It's hard to not consider that a duck. It seems Joshua actually really wanted to accept, but Hearn was against it. Considering Joshua can't legally accept the fight unless Hearn is on board, I'd hate to criticize the fighter. Not fair to call the fighter a duck if his promoter refuses to allow the fight.
The bottom line is this, Hearn has to do whatever makes DAZN happy. That's why this fight hasn't happened yet.Comment

That's not true. Hearn was not talking about the $50million offer when he said that. What he actually said was that the fight would make a little more money in the States than in the UK, but not enough to guarantee AJ $50million.
The only thing AJ ever said about the $50million offer was that if he'd accepted it he would have had to pay millions of pounds to Sky as compensation for breaking his contract with them, so it wasn't really a $50million offer at all.
Bottom line all these guys are going to milk this. When they negotiate through the media it doesn't get done. This has happened over and over again.Comment

BOTH full of Sh#t! Both Contradict Themselves every time they open their mouths and NEITHER is their own Boss they both do what they're told by their teams.
I'm sick of both of their fanbase who just want to play the blame game and would rather do that than to see them fight and have to deal with the outcome of their guy getting knocked out and having to STFU and go away
Both are Overrated and beatable and both probably end up losing before they fight anyway because that is just how the Heavyweight Division is. Upsets will happen in the Heavyweight Division, you cannot avoid them so Wilder and AJ fans better humble themselves NOW and avoid themselves embarrassment when their guys lose because it is going to happenComment

Lets pretend that Hearn and company didn't say that they rather take less and fight in the UK. Lets just forget about that statement.
Bottom line all these guys are going to milk this. When they negotiate through the media it doesn't get done. This has happened over and over again.
Wilder is still ducking and the latest from him is that he won't fight AJ this year, not even in the US for a 50/50 split.Comment
