Pavlik was fu.cking limited and basic, only was a big dude with some power but too basic and without skills

Srl beat hagler so you.might as well say srl is greater middleweight?
Ggg campaigned at 160 so is greater 160 fighter..Nelo might lose his next 3 middleweight fights against, lemieux, Murray and Willie munro junior

kelly pavlik was a handful for anybody in history at MW when he was training hard and making weight. i don'tt hink he beats the great MW and that's onbe of the reasons you don't see him on any great MW list as the division is so deep with accomplishments and talent, but the guy could fight his style was a "problem."

there are a bunch of reasons for that.

            1. he was 6'2" tall at least. rare, almost unique at MW. it's almost impossible to clinch somebody who is that tall and that strong.
            2. he had an iron chin. watch his fights with miranda and taylor. the guy had one of the best chins you are ever going to see. he got hit with shtos that would drop most guys, and he'd literally hardly blink.
            3. he had a style that could win rounds. jabs count and they hurt. they put out the kind of consistent offense that judges like to score. i'd say consistent jab work is second only to stringing together combinations and hurting guys in impressing judges.

kelly pavlik stopped training hard and had a real drug problem. revisionist history is ******. the guy was a tough nut to crack in his prime and it wasn't just because he was some big puncher. if that was the case he'd literally have never gotten past edison miranda, who hit him with bombs and made him literally smile! miranda could absolutely crack and actually broke arthur abraham's jaw if you remember correctly!

Canelo is a good fighter. But what is his signature win ? What is his dominant performance against a top name? Is this all he is? A guy who gets points decisions in close fights?

You are the only.one doing revisionist history

Pavlik was a basic guy, limited, slow as fu.ck, no boxing IQ.

                  Easy win to Canelo

                  Abraham is another bum

Pavlik's destruction of Jermain Taylor is better than *anything* either the Triple Duck or Canelo has managed to do @ 160. Period, full stop.

Because he beat pavlik? The same pavlik that grandpa Hopkins destroyed like a red headed step child? Martinez is a bum and got his azz whooped by an over the hill midget cotto. But all of a sudden "his legs are gone"

This is the same martinez that almost got knocked the fck out by chavez jr who didn't even train for the fight. He was eating cheerios in his pink underwater instead of training. Doing mitts in his living room for 15 minutes and he almost knocked him clean out in the 12 th round.

                      Canelo toyed with chavez jr.

Martinez fought bum after bum got his azz whipped by Margarito. Come on man stop it.

you've gotta be a troll. martinez learned to box when he was 20. margarito had been a pro since he was 15 or 16 years old. for some perspective, martinez had just started to learn to box when margarito was turning pro and fighting grown men in mexico.

"his legs had been gone" for years. he had two surgeries at the end of his career and he and his team have gone on the record saying he couldn't do road work or even spar by the end. his "training" was cycling and using a paddle board when his knees couldn't handle even that.

believe me, when these guys are still viable products at the box office they will still fight and make money! pride and saying, "i might not win this one," is not worth several hundred thousand or a million+ to come back. these guys get phone calls for years after they retire, and a lot of them take the fights!

martinez tried to come back and couldn't! his body will not allow it and that's because he's got no cartilage left in his right knee! cotto doesn't even take that fight in martinez' prime, he was a 154 to finish his career, and even there he was chubby!
