Hope Jacob's beats the living crap outta Canelo..he deserves it.
Do you understand the background in this? This second day weight is a mandatory to hold or fight for the IBF belt. It was mandatory when he fought GGG it was a dirtbag move that put GGG at a disadvantage. So the IBF created a rule basically the "Jacobs" rule to prevent any IBF champion against any fighter that pulls a Jacobs. To prevent that they added a clause where in a unification this IBF second day rule was not mandatory. Jacobs had to fight under this rule to get the IBF belt his last fight and had he fought any fighter other then Canelo and pulled this stunt he would of immediately been stripped of his belt. Ironically he is now IBF champ and using the "Jacobs" rule that was created against him to his advantage now. Canelo put in a penalty to fight under IBF rules which existed in unifications before his stunt with GGG. He signed the contract promoted the fight saying he was going to follow the rules and then once again blew it off to gain a unfair advantage on his opponent after already being criticsed for doing it against GGG.

Canelo is not in the wrong here. Jacobs is now a 2 time offender of this dirtbag move. lol I don't even like GGG but I had to call a spade a spade when he did it to GGG as well.

In the GGG-Jacobs fight it was a WBA mandatory not an IBF mandatory. Jacobs had no obligation to the IBF in that fight. GGG did

Til this day you still can't see the difference.
The rules may have been different, but the end result was exactly the same. One guy had to restrict his weight on fight day, the other guy didn't.

This is only relevant if Jacobs win.

I thought we were all in agreement that he's not winning this fight.

Only a KO wins this fight for Jacobs and in this case he might get disqualified for knocking Canelo out.

It was a cheap move on Jacobs part when he did it vs G, its cheap again; ironically though, not literally cheap.

The goal of a set fight is to fight for the belt/prize of that weight class. To say there trying to make an even playing field is full bullch1t.
If there really that damned concered they should make them weight in minutes before getting in the ring and we all know that will never happen.
24 hours is fair. Anyone who wants to deplete themselves is on them.

There is still the WBC 10% same-day rehydration rule. Jacobs won't weigh more than 176 pounds tonight.

Canelo is getting a taste of his own medicine from his late super welterweight days. His fans are calling Jacobs a cheater just because he reneged on a ****** rehydration clause? They didn't call their boy a cheater when he fought Lara at 155.

Ok, thanks for explaining it. Still think it's a BS rule though, both fighters are middleweights and should be able to rehydrate to whatever their body allows them to so they are not weakened.
