So although styles make fights, there's also levels. I don't think Ruiz is good enough to beat AJ but it's a chance to see how AJ deals with the opponents style. Could be a decent fight.

Considering it's a stand-in opponent, i think it's an ok fight. I'd basically say Ruiz and Miller are of a similar level, so it is what it is.
It's hard to know what level Miller is at right now as I don't know what he'd fight like clean. Whyte went life and death with Parker, I'm not sure he's really a notch above Parker, Ruiz. Ortiz...maybe.

I think it's as good a fight as we could have hoped for and based on my OP I think Ruiz stylistically presents some problems...Joshua is improving so like you I'm interested to see how he deals with it, he's far from the perfect heavyweight himself

Nobody talks about his head movement, jab, counterpunching etc because his skillsets **** average. All they say is "He got fast hands doe''
The only time he has fast hands is when he's sat at a dinner table.

He's grotesquely overweight his feet are slow, his head movement is almost non-existent and to top it he has arms like a T-rex.
He'll get his head jabbed off like he was vs Tor Hammer until he decided to randomly quit as usual.

Its no test he will get dominated.

I don't think he has the size, skills, ability, athleticism, power or style to cause any real problem.
I'll be amazed if its remotely competitive.

That's a good point that you have brought up here, we really don't know how good Miller is now. Watching the Parker/Ruiz fight, I would have liked his chances if he had 3/4 months to train/study for Joshua. Likewise Joshua for Ruiz, obviously Joshua is going to be the favourite going into this fight but i can see a few anxious/exciting moment for the fans in this one.

Hows he going to close the gap?

He hasn't the better feet, he has virtually no head movement and doesn't feint his way in. He just plods forward in straight lines.

Its a predictable fight that'll see him kept on the outside getting hit with the 1-2 over and over.

Fat guys with short necks almost always take a hell of a shot he might go late\the distance but I fully expect it'll be boringly one-sided if it does.

I just don't see him sustaining any real success at all.

I wonder what diet plan they have him on as if he weighs in looking like he did last time out he will get ridiculed when stood next to AJ. That will look like a circus freak show.

I think we can agree that Miller is a better fighter.

It might be a good fight for Fury or Wilder but defeating Joshua is another story and no heavy footed 6'1 guy is going to really press him.

Worst case scenario for Joshua is he'll just coast like he did with Parker , and win an easy UD if he feels any reason to and box around Ruiz.

It's a good fighter to have on resume, Ruiz defeated Parker but didn't get the decision so adding another guy that hasn't been stopped is always a good thing if they are proven guys , those still crying over the fight as it's Joshuas fault like this idiot Red Foxx are just that.... idiots . Lol

Its hardly a good fight but unlike Wilder and Fury it was a last minute one. Expecting a dominant performance from AJ
