They looked good against Derevyachenko that is a very good rival

Jacobs dropped him and hurted him

And he gave him over 10lb in both fights on fight night, the real nuts and bolts of a fight are not in the conservation of 90% of internet fans.

Jacobs is in his prime or close to it, hits hard and knows how to box. jlc? It’s hard to remember the hype back then. But Shane, Oscar, cotto, Judda, Diego, and ortiz were either washed up, b fighters, or elite fighters just past their prime (Still great/tough fighters, but lost a step)

Canelo was very green and I remember the general consensus being he wasn’t ready to face Floyd, including my own. Idc if he had a few fights under his belt, he was like 22 years old and everyone knew he’d lose.

Pac was not on Jacobs level at that time, love pac, but he was past it when they fought. In their primes with explosive manny i would have expected a much more interesting fight, but I’d pick Floyd by a close decision.

The maidana fight was a very tough fight, but not quite on the level of Jacobs.
Really now? What has Jacobs done that Maidana hadn't done when Floyd faced him?

Jacobs isn't even p4p top ten. Are you aware that Mosley was p4p#3 when Floyd faced him?

Are you aware that Oscar was the man at 154 when Floyd faced him, and Floyd had to move up in weight and had gloves size dictated to him? He was at a considerable height, reach, and weight advantage and still had to wear pillow gloves (although he actually started wearing them for every fight after that, he must have liked not breaking his hands on opponent's faces anymore, lol).

Lol, Pac was still p4p#2 so your point is mute. Past prime or not, he was still better than current Jacobs who isn't even top 15 p4p on any rankings.

No one was risky for Floyd coz he was the big fish in the pond. He was always the betting favorite. That's what happens when you're the undisputed best.

Be careful, while trying to prop up Canelo you may inadvertently give praise to Golovkin.

Mayweather is a better fighter than Canelo, he already proved it be schooling Canelo

jacobs is lucky to be a titlist, on his 3rd attempt for a vacant belt against someone unproven at top level.

Mayweather fought outright titlists, several of them.

There is no comparison. With that in mind, why did you start this thread?

It would have been Winky if the fight had went through.

i think lara was a much bigger risk with much less reward than jacobs is imo... that version of lara was such a good and akward boxer at the same time...

                      Hatton? Seriously?

Hatton was a career 140 lber who moved up to 147 to fight Floyd.
