You’d never hear Duran, Hearns, or Leonard talk nonsense like this. Instead they’d talk about fighting the top guy. Spence certainly is not up for fighting Crawford, and if he was there is no way he would be talking like this.

firstly, outside of one another, those guys didn't fight the big threats. Secondly, People paid those guys and didn't try to throw them away with one loss. They didn't steal their fights with streaming, and get mad when a fighter wants a fair purse. Boxing fans are the worst sports fans and don't deserve the fights they want until they learn to be less fickle.Spence is more than ready, he wants it when it's best for him and not best for Arum. After he wins the belts and continues to grow his profile he can control the whole event. Why not do that?

To some extent, Spence does have more options given the stack of potential WW opponents under PBC. But that doesn't mean one of those opponents can't backfire on him. Danny Garcia, Porter, Thurman, can all sneak by him and squeak out a win. If that happens, the Spence train gets derailed and his stock will plummet.

This statement is the reason you don't get the fights you want. People lose then you say their stock plummets, alright then why take the more difficult fight? Crawford doesn't bring a fanbase that Errol doesn't already have plus more so what is the point of splitting the money 50/50 and then taking a cut because ESPN has to get theirs too? Especially when fighting Danny brings the PR fans and a bigger event. Thurman and Porter both offer belts and Thurman a bigger fan base too.

Yes, Leo has also been very selective with his choice of opponents since signing with Haymon. But that doesn't bother me too much because there isn't any Leo Santa Cruz fight that would interest me and most other fans as much as Crawford vs Spence.
