IMO , contract was probably A percentage deal. GGG got a bump in income but prolly wants to keep abel at a smaller precentage or same rate. Just my opinion. Let's see how this plays out.

First of all, someone needs to tell Abel that 5% of 100 million is worth more than 15% of 30 million. The overall in-pocket cash is all that matters.

Next.....this is how you get treated when you claim that your fighter deserved a draw to the media in a close fight. That's a respect killer. He should have just kept that to himself or swore that GGG won. That's what a team player does.

Lastly, what he's saying now after how respectful GGG was in letting the news out shows who has integrity and who doesn't.

I agree, GGG is earning more money and probably just cut the trainers percentage, but in fact the trainer will be getting more as the sums are bigger.

Anyway GGG has served his time and at 37 why not try a new trainer....

It's possible that GGG sees his multi fight deal with DAZN as different, in principle, to the fight by fight deals he was getting before, and doesn't think Abel should be entitled to the same percentage cut.

If that's the case. and Abel feels differently about it, then I can understand him being pissed off. But really, words as strong as he's using there should be spoken in private, not to the media.

Sanchez had to go the moment he threw GGG under the bus after the fight for running from a Mexican Style fight also told reporters he didn't think GGG won. Even if you really believe this you can't be that ****** to say that to reporters when GGG is your boss and pays you. Even trainers who know their guy lost go along with whatever excuses or claims the fighter is making after the fight. Sanchez went off script in a moment of honesty and it cost him. I think GGG lowballed him so he would quit rather then fire him hoping to end things clean. Sanchez threw dirt anyway.

Basically GGG took his girl to a public restaurant and told him it's not you it's me. But Sanchez made a scene in public anyway.

I don't think offering him a few million though, rather than 10, out of 100 million is low-balling. To me Abel was being greedy but I guess we will see how it plays out. Definitely a bad look when you compare Abel's comments to GGG's.

I would guess he does. His fight is coming up in June. Training camp should have already started. Maybe he will hire a Russian for the same money. That didn’t work out well for Kovalev who hired McGirt for his last fight and it paid off.

Yeah I mean he can probably beat Rolls without a trainer. And could probably fight the rest of his career without one too. But I think McGirt may be a good fit, especially if Kov is really liking the relationship with him so far.

This guy is insane. He talks way too much for a trainer. This is perhaps the best career move Golovkin could have made. GGG owes him nothing. He never taught him how to fight in the first place. Who needs him? Good riddance ya bum!
