were talking about guys that have recently had to find replacement fights...i didnt just mention golovkin
Cool story but who says AJ cares about all that? From what I heard they wanted Ortiz since he was the biggest replacement available. AJ mentioned Ortiz name first.

maybe, maybe not...but they promote fights for a reason, and it isn't cuz they sell themselves regardless of opponent. they have been promoting an event for months, that for the time being is cancelled...to say it will have 0 effect, is presumptuous. I mean, if half of the tickets sold are for travelling brits who have already booked flights/hotels etc, they might be ok...or a lot of them could already have cut their losses and cancelled.

its AJs american debut....in NY...they wont cancel....i have no way of proving it to you but the fight would do just as well with ortiz in the place of miller....id be just about anything on it.......id be willing to bet you they could have started the promotion with AJ vs kownacki and its not doing any better/worse than AJ vs miller would do......miller is not a big name....and ortiz is known in NY....he has as many fights in the barclays/ny as miller has in the last 3 years

the key is, started the promotion...time is running short now. Imo, Ortiz is a better fight than miller, but you never know what type of casuals are buying tickets to events in nyc.

its not going to matter....there would/will be no drop off in ticket sales.....ortiz should have been offered every dollar that miller was.....one could argue in fact that ortiz is actually a better name....i wont do that because its not worth the effort....but i could probably do it.....i think expecting a drop off at all is a reach....

he had every right to every dollar that miller was set to earn....not anymore...not any less
Money is money. If ortiz wants to act a diva then he can, but its gonna cost him a few million. He should be the one desperate for this final opportunity at his age not crying that he doesnt get as much as miller. He got paid 500k against wilder ffs. And his stock has dropped lower since that since he got stopped and has looked unimpressive since.

This could be his last ever opportunity to fight for a title. If Joshua-Wilder get their chit together then that could be a 2 fight deal. That would rule out a fight with either Wilder and Joshua until late 2020. Ortiz isn't getting any younger and or better in that time. If he was offered the fight against Joshua then he should have taken it imo.

                    i agree....thats my point

common sense tells you no way he turned down a good deal...and serious doubt would be cast if any deal was actually offered

he said terms were discussed...id love to hear what was offered....if 6.5 was discussed and he said "dont bother" id have to blame ortiz.....that would be a great deal which is why id have a hard time believing even that was offered....most likely a lowball offer designed to be turned down so they could say "we tried".......we know how hearn operates and its been told by a few

                      1. lowball offers were way more than Wilder has STILL yet to make, not sure that could be called a lowball offer, tbh...
                      2. DAZN made even more of an offer and Wilder was still ordered not to accept....thats called ducking, son!
