did you check the HW ranking for a "credible American opponent" right now?...

There are no HWs with name recognition in the States. AJ himself doesn't have name recognition in the States!

An American opponent would obviously be the best bet to sell the fight in the US though. Maybe Hunter?

Yes, Luis Ortiz. However, that's besides the point. The point is DAZN is not going to throw money at two Euros fighting on American soil.

John Skipper is a smart business man. That was the whole sales pitch to introduce AJ to America soil by fighting an American opponent with name recognition in the region, in order to help increase Joshua's profile stateside.

Luis Ortiz foots that bill just perfectly and beautifully.

              1. Luis Ortiz- he'd have time to prepare. plenty. no way joshua fights him.
              3. Adam Kownaci- he's marketable. very. i would rather this than the original miller fight.

Michael Hunter is too inexperienced and green. I was thinking along the lines of Luis Ortiz. He is an American citizen now though he is of Cuba descent.

Joshua would stomp kick the living shit of Adam Kownacki. He eats too many damn punches. In addition, his volume punching is too damn slow for AJ. He will see them coming a mile away. It would be batting practice for Joshua; He would turn Kownacki into a human punching bag.
