It's a high energy, high movement style which requires incredibly hand and footspeed. Their mentally is "why block a punch, when you can avoid it all together". Unfortunately, this style doesn't transition well when the fighter starts aging. While the mind still knows what to do,the body and reflexes of an aging fighter simply can't keep up with the commands. Loma is 31 right now,and I'd say he has until 33-34 years old when we see the machine really start to rust. Add this to the fact that he is prone to injuries and inactivity,we might get a scenario in which a younger fighter (tank,Lopez) waits out Loma, and takes him out in dramatic fashion. Hopefully I'm wrong, and Loma uses his high boxing Iq and switches up his style like mayweather did in the latter part of his career,to compensate for him slowing down. Feel free to discuss.
Strongly disagree. Lomachenko is technically much better than roy who used his athelticism to avoid shots. Lomachenko actually blocks with his hands and uses head movement to avoid shots. You're comparing apples to oranges.

If he wins his confidence shoots through the roof. If he loses then his boxing IQ gets a free lesson and an upgrade at a very young age.

Look how good Canelo got after losing to Floyd.

If the kid wants it then the promoter shouldn't get in the way.
lopez has only had 12 pro fights and is 21 a one sided loss could destroy his future as a pro fighter. clenelo was two years older and had close to 40 fights at that point. Nope that comparison doesn't work. lopez should at least get in there with commey and see how he does. The promoter is supposed to protect the younger fighters that are on the way up lopez is still in the prospect stage of his career.

people know lopez is a legit threat to loma

lopez doesnt want to be protected and doesnt care...he wants the fight...and bob cant even muzzle him because lopez doesnt care what bob tells him...whats bob going to do? release him from his contract? lol...thats why bob has had loma shoot the fight down

whenever a fight people wanna see doesnt happen due to what looks like a promotional war these guys run around here "i wish fighters would take control of their career and demand fights"

and here you have a 21 year old wanting to take control...and a supposed legend already talking the fight down likely on orders from his promoter...LOL

Not so sure about that. Putting on 3 lbs and fighting at Caneloweight had something to do with his improvement also. What he gained mostly from that fight was learning how critical a few pounds are at this level. From that fight he learned to insist on weight working for him instead of against him.
Only fight Canelo has not been the A-side and giving into that weight demand cost him.

That said, fighters like Canelo, and Loma for that matter, are extremely confident in their abilities and are mentally very tough. One bad loss isn't going to derail them. Maybe Lopez is cut from that same cloth but most are not. One bad loss might undo him.

downfall, almost all fighters have a downfall, some get lucky and get home protection their entire careers and some get matched perfectly but most fall at some point, its just a matter of time
