but its nonsense. a joshua/wilder fight isnt worth anywhere close to 100 million for both guys as he claims. the money joshua and wilder would get is from dazn, not from the profits made on that fight in particular. hearn was willing to massively overpay wilder to secure the joshua fight. maybe dazn offers him more in the future for some reason but they certainly dont have to. especially given wilders weak numbers and the possibliity that joshua does well in the US. even if joshua doesnt do well in the US his fights in the UK generate far more than any wilder fight so not sure why they would lose money and stage the fight in the US. he lives in an alternate reality. so anytime someone turns down a great deal its no longer ducking? its just ******** that you will get more money down the line hmm ok

well is any source reliable? the fight apparently did around 300k so they say but who knows that could be bollocks. im sure it didnt do more. 300k times 75. going on those numbers it was a big money loser. not that 300k is horrible but if the point of boxing is to make money which it is, it didnt do well. for example the ggg-jacobs fight did less buys but turned a modest profit therefore it was a success. similar to if you have a movie with a 100 million budget and it only does 50 million in revenue or if you have a 10 million budget and do 15 million in revenue. ill take the latter! so will showtime as they are out of the wilder ppv business simply because its not profitable and it probably wont be profitable given his larger and larger purses.

DAZN will continue to want Joshua vs Wilder and they'll be willing to spend. As long as they both keep winning the fight will just get bigger.

These days 300k is a great number for a non-Floyd, non-Pac, non-Canelo PPV. If those numbers are accurate that is not a flop at all.
